Robert Heinlein, in his 1982 novel "Friday" makes the following statement:
"Sick cultures show a complex of symptoms... ( such as when the people of a country stop identifying themselves with the country and start identifying with a group. A racial group. Or a religion. Or a language. Anything as long as it isn't the country as a whole. A very bad sign, Particularism. And, before a revolution can take place, the population must lose faith in both the police and the courts.)...but a *dying* culture invariably exhibits personal rudeness. Bad manners. Lack of consideration for others in minor matters. A general loss of politeness, of gentle manners, is more significant than a riot. This symptom is especially serious in that an individual showing it never thinks of it as ill health but as proof of his/her strength."

props to this author. am just getting enlightened.
i think this forums is getting more and more interesting.
and i beleive somalis are just showing up their hurt and frustration how our country and our whole society is going down to abyss.
we as a nation are on the crossroads now, we can change all the negativity and decruction to positive and constructive direction only if we realize how sick and wrong we are, holding to the ropes of clannism and regionalism. we are all showing up how our somali psyche have been shuttered by..no one else ..but us.ourselves and that is a good thing. it's a start...... |

ITS NOT THE COUNTRY DESTRUCTION!!!!!! INFRASTRUCTURE CAN BE REBUILT.
BUT WHEN THE PPL LOSE THEIR IDENTITY, THEIR CULTURE AND THEIR DREAMS.....

if you just look around and see how disrespectiful and pathetic are some people here, plus we are sharing the forums with weirdos , people with no moral values, kids who are not brought up with values and who don't know how to respeect, people with no dignity, people with no grasp of history and reality.
i heard that reality bites but the truth is somalis are just dead and simply immoral.
we are lost as people, we are doomed, we have no leaders, no thinkers, no saviours. every one of us is contributing to our demise.
we lost the foundation, the basic principle of being.
am eally sad and sorry we are in this sitaution . am also worried and helpless. i gave up and that is even worse... how can this be changed? am hurt and am still suffering we are all suffering. we have to realise that. |
