Well Basra

I like to make a crab and coconut starter with lime juice and couscous on the side.. Salmon with potatoes wedges and a Thai sauce.. Here's how to make that perfect meal........ for 5 !

Ingredients:

Lime juice
Crap chuncks / paste.. tinned crab
Coconut milk
Salmon Filet...

Potatoes - or wedges in a plastic bag from Super market

Mint and Apple syrup..

the usual - garlic, salt.. bla bla bla

1 telephone
1 lighter
1 fag
1 take away menu.
1 large can of Air-freshener

Whilst I'm mashing the crab paste (with coconut milk).. I make sure a lean salmon filet is under the grill with lime juice and a lil black pepper sizzling away to perfection....

Smashing complete I remember to dice up my potato wedges and throw them in the Micro-wave to to soften up before I stick them too under the grill..(time management)

that's Potatoe wedges and Salmon.. both under grill..

put a pan on the fire.. lil oil and put my smashed crab paste.. with garlic and basil and ginger in the pan.. need to roll into lil ball sizes.. to fry ever so slightly ..leaving you with a soft centre covered by a lightly crusty outside.. mmmmmmmmm.. yum...

ok

that's Salmon and wedges under grill... a few crab ball in the pan with oil... sh-i-t.. what's next?... oh yes... the sauce... grab some mint and apple syrup.. for the Starter sauce...

phone rings...

Grab phone and have chat....

oh ••••.. what's that smell?...

put phone down...do I turn the cooker off?..naa..it'll help hide my smoking.. light up a fag!.... Grab local Indian take-away menu.. and ask for a delivery for 5...

Chuck all in bin.. have shower and spray house...and remember the fag smell too!

open door, grab Indian, slam door in Indian mans face.. hide delivery bag and containers, put plates out and wait for guests...to pass food of as yours!

Perfect meal for 5.. can be extended up to 10ppl..

The alternative is to:

a. get your mum to cook for you
b. a pizza instead
c. a Chinese instead
d. a Thai instead
e. a Somali cafe - take-away instead (not sure if u would want to pass this one off as your own work of art though)
f. go around to friends/ family instead and rotate visits.
g. live on crisps and cheese dips for while.
h. Get your BOYFRIEND/HUBBY to cook

Basra,

Why do I get the feeling that you've never tasted a delicious meal from a man's care????

I think it's a little bit offensive sign that you have here "No men allowed." For a moment I thought you intended to make us men rush in with their secret favorite dishes, but again that would make us fools rather than bad cooks in which I prefer the latter!

Besides, all the great chefs I know happen to be men.lool..

Sagi woman,

You crack me up!

First with your menu, I have to believe every meal I had enjoyed so far must have had a touch of your ingenuity, am afraid.

Second, I will never compliment a meal I had no presence in its preparation, since you gave us the usual suspects reasoning, for good delicious food equals delivery!!! Guys, be aware next time around..but you know, someone is in trouble if asked about the ingredients....do I hear a lot of um.mm..um..onions..and m .garlic...pepper..mm.and mmm. Bingo... that's delivery and Lord help thine soul.

I like to bake cakes. My simple 45 minute cake is a fav in my house.

The ingridients are:
4 cups of self-raising flour
4 cups suga
6 eggs
2 t-spoons of Vanilla essence
I sachet of Icing
1 sachet of cooking chocolate
And some carfis (U know heeyl, dhago yare and nutmeg)

Anyway whisk the eggs, and suga in a bowl. After 8 mins of whisking add the flour and vanilla essence in it. Stop whisking. Take a spoon and fold the flour into the eggs. This technique stops the cake to go flat and it still maintains its air. Add the carfis.

Grease your baking dish. Or alternatively U can use pre-greased 10" sheets so that it doesnt stick to the bottom. Add your contents in it and put your dish in a pre heated oven.....Usually 250 degrees.

After 20 minutes open the oven check if it has hardened. To do so U can take a pasta strip and insert it in your cake....in the middle helps girl coz the moist always goes to settle in the middle. LOL...Don't ask why Just get on with it...:)
If it has hardened ,take your cake out and try to let it settle for 5 minutes.

Divide the cake in 2,put your melted chocolates in the middle of the cake. Cover it with the other half. Then coat your entire cake with the pre-prepared icing.

Do not tell anyone of your production......Go to your room kidnapping your creation...and watch the new episode of Ally Mcbeal.....TUCKING INTO A MARVEL OF A DELICATE MACAAAAAAAN.

Hide the evidence later...:O

PEACE
Trouble
