Yo this is serious ok? So no insults. Ok I just want to know how u can work out the following.

The % decrease (in %/hour) from 5.9 to 5.4 in 24 hrs. I know it seems simple but I need to know ASAP!

Help..needed: What is it that u want to find? ,..Here is how I would solve..assuming that u want to find..percentage decrease in the quantity per hr.....

n/100 = .5/5.9 (
now by cross multiplying u get 0.118.....this is the percentage that has decreased in the amount for 24hrs...now u want to find out...the percentage of decrease in an hr....divide this by 24....which is equal to 0.0049...appr...0.005%/Hr....I hope that answers ur Q!

Help needed,

I think yabaane is right!
You want to know what the percent decrease per hour is, if something falls from 5.9 to 5.4 in 24 hours (Right?)

5.9 - 5.4 = 0.5
So there was a decrease of 0.5 over 24 hours.
But you want to know, more specifically, the decrease per hour.
So you do 0.5 divided by 24 = 0.0208
Since you want a percentage, multiply this value by 100. Your answer is 2.08% or as Yabaane said, approximately 2.1%.

Capiche? Good luck!

I have analysed your question and would like to suggest that you reformulate your variables properly.

The % decrease (in %/hour) from 5.9 to 5.4 in 24 hrs

You must provide specific hours, that is a starting point to compute, your whole proposition is ambiguous.
like..given certain time intervals of x and y: calculate the percentage decrease in 24 hours?
your intervals are 5.9 and 5.4, it doesnt make sense really.

Maybe if U understood the question, it would make sense to you. Go back to your text book, or notes and copy the question as it is in the book......not in your own words......Coz it is impossible to enact math in your own words...Damn.........What is this Shakespeare?

T-GIRL quit tryna sound smart bitch, whats so hard to follow about "what is the rate of decrease per hour if something decreases from 5.9 to 5.4 in 24 hours"? I think that is simple enough for even simple minded people like your sweet self, I thought I was lil slow but u worse than me guuurl! Get it sorted plz.

Math guru

ma aragtey, dabaal silly ah waaye, waxeey og tahay hadii ee taqaaan maxaa su aal keeney i caawi kulahaa, naga tag dabaal yahay, sharaf aa ku soo gashewy waa xaartey,,dadka maa u maleesey maano koobiyo ineey ka imaadeen, i bet ppl are smarter than ye walaahi,
That is why ye have to eb reminded to hold yourself back, dabaal yaheey.
Your question doesnt really mak any sense at all, and believe me, i am a math guru walaahi, and most of ma colleagues consider me one tough hell made of variables and unknowns,
But in your case, sister walaahi the whole proposition you posted doesnt adhere to any mathematical principles.
The answers that are posted by the so-called hasy guys walaahi is funny and makes me laugh all the more.
Calculation of percentage, that isnt what your question is based.
I bet ye are able to see the difference between simple percentage calculation in which
the required percentage(x)=x/100.
the formula u used is like this, and i intend to show ye how ye are totally stupid if not idiot.

since u asked...The % decrease (in %/hour) from 5.9 to 5.4 in 24 hrs

let me highlight how these idiots responded to something that doesnt exist at all,
(X)INITIAL VALUE=5.9
(X)FINAL VALUE= 5.4
Difference of the two values=(0.5)

walaahi this is absurd, what does this difference stand for.?
Anonymous baaba ka daran,,
Let me tell you one thing please and dont be offended.
If u wanna solve for this problem of yours, will you please try to just say what is it that ye want to accomplish? what do you want to find?

To Anonymous.

Too bad,,ok since you said that your answer is 2.1% what does this mean? ha ha hahahahahah.
Atleast the diference between the two variables is 0.5, that is fine but in fact what is so striking is the direction of this variable,,ok ye found out that the difference of these was 0.5, then ye spread this across twenty four hour limit why?
what will this spread accomplish?
ye simply spread the difference of the two variable across the whole twenty four hour limit. ooooooops..
after that what ye did, loooooooool too bad to imagine,
ye divided the least by 100 to arrive a rather loose fractions that signify and mean nothing athr than that they are numbers,,
yaab,,,
let me just say that ye fellaz have a long way to go walaahi when it comes to math..
try differential equation, i believe ye can solve it if you refresh your variables,,in the meantime so long..

HELP NEEDED
This is your initial question......

"The % decrease (in %/hour) from 5.9 to 5.4 in 24 hrs."

And this is your question now..........

"What is the rate of decrease per hour if something decreases from 5.9 to 5.4 in 24 hours"?

So my experience as someone who has taken arithmatics and has stayed up endless nights to solve numerous equations tells me that if U want a maths question solved.....U need to copy it exactly as it says it on the book or wherever it is you got your information from aight. In the course of 2 messages U have interpreted the whole question in your own words..........Does it look like we in Badiye here, badow yahow madaxa dhere.....and furthermore instead of being a bit apologetic about your mistakes U in here unsuccessfully trying to defend yourself.....U R such a SCHMUCK sorry to say that, but U R.

Just thank God David Hilbert ain't reading this junk of yours.

PEACE

Trouble Girl I defend myself because I find it so hard to believe that these people are so dumb! Oh my god! I didn't get the question from a "book" neither was it set by a teacher but I got this question because I am working on a project which I have designed myself. And I ask my own questions in mY "OWN WORDS" GET IT? Yes u cut and past the different ways I phrase my question, if u look at it u will see it is the same question, I just elaborated it a bit and made it simpler for the dumb idiots who were asking what it meant. I truely thank the people who have tried to answer my question especially anonymous who gave me the correct answer, and Hibo who tried her best. Thanks guyz! Oh and yaabane too. (yaabane that was a simple question rite?).
