Miskiin-Waryaa-Aqiyaar-Macruuf | Friday, March 16, 2001 - 12:48 pm Salama... Ah, again, another... Who said Ibraahim was a Jewish or a Hebrew {though, Hebrew is a language, not a nationality}. The Quraan mentions Ibraahim as "neither a Jew nor a Christian {Nasarian}, but a straight Muslim." See, Oday-Dhunsan-Biiqay, Ibraahim {C.S.} was neither. He was the father of both of his sons. They became to be known as whatever they call themselves today, but he, in the eyes of Muslims, is but a Muslim. And we all know, none knew the name Jew or Judah before or at the time of Ibraahim. Jew, a.k.a. Judah, was the alternative name of Judah or Isra'el--and mostly, we as Muslims familiar with Yacquub. His name devoloped gradually as Jacob, Judah, Isra'el, and until recently, Jew. Or rather call them all to be Semetic {as descendants of Shem, the son of Nuux [Noah]} My point, however, was to clarify the status of Ibraahim {C.S.}. So, if you want to know more about his sons' history, then I am really glad to comment on them, too. ___________________ Nabadeey!! |
