I work nice jop seattle suburbs been there 4yrs most coworkers nice people ..one day one of my coworker ask me if I can give him ride his car is in mechanic shop ,I said fine ,I gave that evening ride and he asked me again tomorrow also if I can give him ride going to work I said I will give you the ride.,the next day I pick him up and he gave me plastic bag full of salami Ham I look in the bag and I said no thank you I don't eat ham and I don't want and he said give your friends and said they don't eat too, he said how come..I said I am muslim and I don't eat ,thank you anyway ,,he didn't say anything else ,and never ask me ride again but after few days the whole friendly coworkers turned into hostile environment ,,I told the story one Somali friend and he said you should take the ham and throw into the trash...but I realy think I did the right thing and I quit the jop...did I made right decision ?

You did the right thing. And of course dont even think about it as if you are the culprit.
Every one of us has his own zone of distastes, and frankly you are right to be assertive to tell him what you didnt like. Your friend if he was a friend at all, or coworker didnt appreciate the fact that you are a human being who has certain distaste, needless to say the fact that ham is haraam in the religious sense.
He should have understood well had he known in advance that your religion has set prohibition on ham. Howeever clearly this coworker roused hatred in the field depicting you as rogue. We all have different ways of appraoching certain things differently.
A plain negative response without explaining the deeper reassoning behind your rejection would probably propell your friend to think that his gift has been declined without any valid ground.
Surprisingly, what is the relationship between your employment and your rejection of his gifts?
I believe the two have nothing in common.
If all the workers tend to show hatred towards me, i would simply have to ignore and carry out my duty.
Remember always be strong in the eyes of your enemies. Never show weakness.
