Samira | Thursday, April 12, 2001 - 11:19 pm I've been living in a small town for the past tent years with my family. Even though, I've been around foreigners the whole time, I kept myself grounded with both my religion and culture...I busied myself with school and work.. Naturally(the town being 90% white),I found myself in situations were I had to deal with racism which really affected me deeply. Having to deal with people putting you down constantly can change someone's mentality. I decided I couldn't take it anymore and would move to a more multicultural town... I thought Toronto would be that place which I would transfer my studies to.. Now,people are coming up to me and telling me that I should not go there. For one, the living is very expensive. Two, I would not be able to find any descend girls that I could share the rent with..(I have an ount but since she has a lot of kids,I wouldn't be able to focus on my Uni)and lastly, there are not many jobs. So,If you live in Toronto and can tell me anything to help me out..I would really appreciated it...thanx |
