Historian Know believe that together with other cushitic people the somalis originated from the EGYPT, in the upper valley of NIle,between 7000BCE. they were the investors of the Egyptian Pharonic and religious system, and halmark of world civilization
The cushite civilazation of punt(modern day somalia) was the subject of a famous Egyptian expedition during the reign of Queen Hatshepsut in the 18th dynasty 1560BCE -1330BCE
Punt was a country characteristic by agriculture and Urbernzation with internation trade link.

...If I'm not mistaken...was it not the Queen of Egypt in 1580BCE...Marbulla? The evil
Queen? Who many Egyptian Legends has it she did away with a whole village that
refused to pay her respect? To this day, legend has it that she was a witch...and had the
power to MOVE objects. "Telekantic" or something like it. They believed(the Egyptians)...that
she moved the village up-side-down...with her powers.
For this reason, Egyptians do not name their children "Marbulla"---because it stands for
evil, as Pharoah or Madusa or Hecate, etc.
So, 'Queen Hatshepsut' could not be the Queen of Egypt in 1560BCE -1330BCE...Which logically nulls this whole version of our History.
This version sounds a very not complicated version of our history...and our history,
neverthless, IS complicated! Ok, sorta! :-)

I sincerely doubt that President Clinton said that. Does that sound politic to you? Not exactly a way to garner votes. In the event, Somalis were slave traders and slavers, they were seldom slaves themselves. The Bantu who inhabit Somalia today are the decendants of slaves kept by Somali masters. The Somalis have always had an extensive history as nomads and warriors and were (and remain) feared by the Bantu peoples to the south. Hope this helps.
