The case of Dialo was going on for a little longer than 1 and 1/2 year and it was concluded today. The trial was televised and most of us were pretty much following the story from day. What do u think about this case and was there any justice applied? What kind of messege is being conveyed in this case (consider the race issues, NYC police image as well as the relocation of the trail in Albany rather than Bronx). Was something wrong with the jury or the justice system? Give us your thoughts and where you stand on this issue.

I'll say that I'll stand on pretty safe place and go for higher grounds. This is America and if you're a non-white and a poor, you better keep your backs against some wall, and keep your eyes on the ground 'cause even where you're standing is not solid enough to support your refugee weight, and may give way. So the only thing IM safe to say is: Start preying before we prey for you, and keep doing all you can to protect yourself from them (Gun toting police officers) You might get 46 bullets instead of the usual 41.
To protect and serve (That's their Logo)
Protect the white and the filthy rich.
Serve death warrants on your black and hispanic butts.
See?

The defense was lightweight and didn't deliver. One of the policemen, got away with murder a SECOND time, becasue he has killed a nonwhite before "in the line of duty" of course.
The NYPD has proven time and again that it is guilty of racial profiling. YOU are black, then you are a guilty thug.
The forensic pathologist has indicated that Diallo, fell to the ground and was dead after the first couple of shots, but he was bombarded with so many bullets after he fell WHY? WHAT WAS THE POINT?
I agree with what Senator Bill Bradely said: In America, if a white man has his hand in his pocket, he is pulling out his wallet; but if a black man has his hand in his pocket, he is pulling out a gun.
Racism is alive and well in the land of plenty.
NYPD has gotten away with murder again.

Salamu Caleykum!

This case is only one out of thousands that gives you the clear indication about how unfair US justice system is.

That's America, the home of unjust!

Thank you very much, HEBEL. That was some speech. Well said, my brother. It makes me sick to my stomach just thinking about that verdict. The only thing that bothers me even more is why they had 8 white males and NO black men on that jury. And what the hell were those stupid black women thinking? The entire defence was based on the fact that they (the police) THOUGHT Amadou Diallo was acting suspiciously and that he had a weapon. Let us break this down. 1) How are you supposed to act when 4 white policemen corner you and you are about to be shot at 41 times? 2)Couldn't they just draw their guns and tell him to freeze? And 3)Would they be scared of Diallo if he was not black? Just their argument that they were scared proves their racist nature so since when is being a racist a good enough reason to kill innocent black man? As I said, this makes me sick.

While I agree that racial profiling is a BIG problem in America, consider this. Of the last 19 New York City police officers killed in the line of duty 16 were killed by minorities. This in spite of the fact that minorities make up only 25% of the general population. When police confront a black they know the chances of violent confrontation are much higher than with whites. Black on Black crime is also MUCH higher than white on white crime. If you ask me the problem is beyond racial profiling by the police, which is generated by actual trends. The real question to ask is why is out minority population committing crime so disproportionately? This goes back to Americas slave history. Americas minority population has not had an equal opportunity to get educated and compete for quality jobs. Those who are educated often don't get the opportunities because employers are afraid to higher minorities. It's a vicious cycle that must be broken. Funny how in the Army we have fewer racial problems than anywhere else in American society. Go figure.
