If you respect your religion as you said, then there is no question that you should stay as far away as possible from modeling.
You may get some money provided that you become a model, but what after that? You'll never get any respect from your family, friends and any real Muslim person. Maybe some of them will not show you the hate, because they want your money, but deep down they have no respect for you. You are no different from a common hoe.

You said " you want to be super-model"
but can not manage its effects towards your religion and culture.

Before you proceed to take any decision are you realy interested to do modelling or someone else adviced you to do so.
If you are desprately want to take as a career and you thing you qualify as one of the top models "please do not do in Germany you can work there but make agency somewhere else.
During you modeling career be complemtory and hide you anger. Decide exact time you could be in a model business. e.g 10-12 years it depends your current age. Today you can choose what type of modeling you want to take, which will not have any affects towards your religion and culture. To extract such kind of ideas. call your friends for a meeting and ask them "what would you comments be if you see me wearing such king of cloths. If the results looks bad do not proceed to do it.
You could never be in naar of what other people say about you. but you could be in naar of what you do behand bars. So be confidence and more diplomatic. Say to your interviewers"you wanted to know what is like modelling environment and see if you can bring new faces to the industry. Never tell your exact objectives before you recieve any complements. Because it is highly rated competition industry.
If your idea is based on someone else said to you could be a super model. Please do not hassle yourself and waste your time. There is plainty other good things to do, which require a little achievement.

As a Somali brother, I guess I have the opportunity to tell you or give you my advice on behalf of your question. I believe that you've a full control of you body as well as you decisions but I must also say that you've a full responsibility of the actions that you do. It's an annoying thing when a Somali persons asks an advise, there is always someone out there who does negatively point things out inappropriately. On the other hand, it's upsetting me the advice on which we're giving are not really the advices that we give to family members but rather our desires and may be misguidence sometimes. Let me tell you my dear respected sister, I do really love you as a Somali sister and wish you happy and success life but I don't think being a MODEL is what you need to do in life and a career you'd pursue. It's a misery and you must avoid even thinking about become a model. Modeling is a marketplace where they sell the beauty of the sisters and the place where they produce the FAWAAXISH. Model is the only one thing that the KUFAAR are using today to mislead people from their religion and culutures. I believe as a young Somali Muslim sister, you wouldn't enjoy doing it and have no interest of the little money they are offering. And If you keep listening to the people, you will have some of them preaching you going down deep to the ocean without life saver. I mean you'll see people telling you everything but the decision should be yours and the responsibiltiy bears upon you. After all, it's islamically HARAAM and Muslims should not do it. One day 2 years ago I was in a shopping center, (Eaton Center) in Toronto Canada when I was approched by 2 white men who started conversing with me and my friend. It turns out that they were with a vancouver based agencey that recruited models. They offered me their card and I was very much excited. I thought it was a once in a life time chance. I went home and told my parents and of course coming from a traditional family they refused to let me get started in the industry. I was disappointed and angry with them, it was my life and I should have the right to choose my career path I thought.
Now 2 years later, I'm 2 years older and wiser. I have a better understanding of the world than I did at 15. I'm glad my parents prevented me at the time from persuing modeling. It's an industry which is based on the exploitation of women. I don't think it's very glamourse to have the essence of your existance difined by your external beauty. It's very degrading if you think about. Sure the money is good and you get to be pampered for a while, but what happens when the face of beauty changes? You're suddenly tossed aside like an out of style pair of jeans.
I have no right to tell you what to do. I'm sure you're very much capable of deciding for your self. Be very criticle when making your decision like the brother said you're in full controle and you will be held accountable for your actions in hereafter. |

Your decision in all matters depends on how well versed you are in this world and if you understand the rule of the game about women in this world that is even better. As a woman how far you think you are important or have a place in any society?.
You can decide what you want but Allah knows what is best for you and he told you if you want a sense of security and dignity you cover yourself and not parade among predators showing your badeeco to everyone.
Furthermore, Have you read about the lives of the Models, They are suffering from all kinds of psychologicl proplems because they know their card is only their short term beauty and once it dissapears DUE TO an accident or an injury they are gone and don't matter anymore to anybody. One time there was this interview with a famous black model I can't recall her name and they asked why she stayed so long without a boyfriend and she replied "Because I don't know whether they want my beauty or money". Now models have only those two things and no sense of dignity and they know it that is why the model does not expect a loving husband unless she settles with LAGAROONE like they always DO.
That is why they OPT to PLASTIC surgery AT THIRTY. Can you Immagine the pain and the insecurity they feel about themselves once they got on board of modelling and then want to stay competetive. THEY HAVE TO SLEEP WITH EVERY DOG around. The agent, the photographer, the security gaurd, because no one else will talk to her since she is surrounded by these predators and they have to get the goods from the model SINCE THEY CORNERED HER.
It is disgusting really to be a model and a one way ticket to hellish life.
I have seen an IDIOT NAMED USA told you to ignore the ADVICE but he/she HAS TAKEN HER/HIMself GOD and plays with his/her stomach..uf baa laa yiri.
How many models a year commit suicide, become dehydrated for good to maintain SKINNY LEGS ahahhaha this is funny because they are CRAZY by wanting to satisfy other HUMANBEINGS and forget themselves. When you mention the word "MODELLING", people automatically assume it has something to do with nudity......That is not the case a lotta the times. U can do catalogues(Casual wear and stuff), U could get involved in magazines..... There are so many fields within the Modelling industry, I am sure you could easily make your way around it. And as far as people like UBAX R concerned.... she is burning with jealousy...I can feel her keyboard sizzling through my screen.
Don't let ignorant people like her get in your way to doing good for yourself. I would advice you to stay away from the negetive aspect of modelling, like drugs and alcohol----but then again U knew that RIGHT?

I think we are "jumping the gun"!
Just because someone is beautiful doesn't mean that they would be a successful model. To be successful in modelling one needs to be exteremely photogenic (for magazine work) or exteremly tall (over 6 ft for runway).
Luuley- how tall are you? your weight? What are your measurements? (bust/waist/hips)
That is what you will need to write down on your "resume"!!!
I find that part the most demeaning!
Not only do they have to be skinny they have to have a body that is in great shape. One of my friends, one of the most beautiful somali women, tried modelling (back when there were not too many somali people around!) but did not suceed in it. All she ever did was runway stuff- for small fashion shows. A successful model has an "X" factor- an ability to charm the camera.
So my advise to you-
If you seriously want to pursue a career in modelling- get some pictures taken by a professional (not someone you just met! This is how young women fall into traps! Go ONLY to someone an agency refers)- see how you photograph. Then after you make your portfolio of pictures (cost about 300 to 400 US$)- and beware of the agencies that claim to have "free picture"- there is no such thing as a "free lunch"!
Send a head-shot to various agencies. See the kind of response you get. This takes time- no one ever gets DISCOVERED! That only happens in the movies.
Meanwhile, you said you just arrived in Germany. I hope you are in school.Develop your mind and get a real education- something you can use in life.
If you suceed in modelling (and there is a lot of money in it) use that money to invest wisely in your education and future. then quit the business and start you "real" life.
Modelling can be used to get to a goal. If modelling is your only goal.....boy! will you be in trouble when you pass 22!

See when you give a good advise to someone, they really appreciated and take
positively, but you guys especially that so-called muslima who always turn around her
entire mind toward islam & religion with one eye closed, no one will ever pay any
attention to you her narrow minded advises. Always analyzes the kind of person you talking to,
try to understand the psychology of the person, never underestimate the content of their
story, it might useful for you in the future.
For instance this is a young girl who is blessed with beauty(like all our somali sisters)but
don't really know what to do with it, the sister is getting all kind of attention and she loves
that. The way that you guys are approaching is the old fashion way, same tactic than my grand mother,
is true that islam plays a big role in our dally lives but you this young girl is receiving your message
even at home, she wants hear different advise that's why she is asking a advise on the net,
remember i told her stay away from alcohol & drugs, is obviously a good advise, i never
told to become a model but to learn herself and inner beauty, to go back in history and
see how the most beautiful woman took advantage of her beauty, because i believe that
beauty is a great intimidation for allot man's, that what i told her sister muslima.
For the other people who misunderstood me about islam, i am great believers of this
