I don't mean to bring the high energy most of you have down. I'm simply suggesting we should do something about the brothers and sisters that are dying from starvation. i don't know what will make you feel their pain, but if you were hungry once, you will not let this happen. This might be too much to ask from some people but if you will like to join me in helping our fellow somalis, contact me at aishatun@yahoo.com. i will give you the details of my progress as well as inputs on what you might do to help.

listen to their cries today, they might not ignore yours tomorrow.

much love and bleasings,
aisha

for those who have been in the dark, there is a great famine in south eastern ethiopia, aka, ogaden land, and some part of somali. people are dying left and right. the average days infants live is five days. the so called UN and the USA are trying to help them. due to rain and stuff, the roads got so bad that they can't take the food to them on time. go to www.bbc.com for more infor.
the bottom line is, we can't sit on out butts while our people are crying for help. hope you are willing to help.

I honestly am willing to help, but like brother jamal we need to know more information on how to help. So it would be helpful if you told us. What it is you want us to do? Also please don't ask for money if you are not willing to give us more information. I truly believe that we as a Somali community need to help our own. I am sure there are alot of people that would willingly help, if we knew where to start. So please give us the information as soon as possible because like you said they need our help.

i'm just a struggling student like many of you guys. i don't even think i have more or less money than most. its the thought that count. for me, i'm planning to do a fund raising party in san jose in about a month time. i'm working on the details as we speak. you guys can do the same in your communities and then we can collect all the money and send it. think about it. also, do what you can. if you have money to spare, don't send it to me, send to someone in any region that you wanted the money to go to and they will take care of the rest.

ppl, i might come up with an ideal or two, the whole point here is for us to put our heads together and come up with something even bigger. share your ideas with me, don't assume i have all the answers.

peace out,
aisha
