DearCritic | Thursday, September 21, 2000 - 05:15 am First and foremost Salad is the latest Somalia's president. All we have to wait is how long is he going to hold on to it. Last few "presidents" were not that fortunate. In 95, Caydiid said he's a president after he was elected by bunch of his men from USC wing. That "government" lasted only few months. In 91, Ali Mahdi was a bit better. He said he's the president of Somalia elected by somali representives in Djibouti. He was a "government" till his last days before he went To Carta. Of course he wouldn't like the idea of a president seeking an MP position. These Two men did all it took to get the title. Sometimes, these men had to let a whole village down to keep their governments from crumbling. That, I call an effort! Now, for Salad, what made you think he doesn't deserve the title? Well, he helped Somali Kacaanka to survive that long,21 years . He, was a minster in as many places in our beloved goverment. C'mon, give him a break! There's a talent in this man. This man has a vision and a dream, one that is to adopt Siad Barre way, the hero way "true somali partiots should love anarchy over stability." I mean, he was there when Reer Waqooyi resisted the somali goverment and they had to be burned. So for other tribes. He was there the last very few days of our Hero Siyad. He was there when even his tribe resisted and were to burn some. H'e's great! Last but not least, his cabinets will be mainly the old heroes from Kancaankii 21 October. Don't you admire him? |
