     | Monday, October 30, 2000 - 11:38 am What about Somali parents who won't let their son/daughter to get married to a Somali person just because they are from different Somali clan? I would really love to hear what you all have to say about this because as you all know "Us" Somalis can be very discriminating against our own people.

| | Tuesday, October 31, 2000 - 01:42 am to waris, bro this thing happens in somalians everytime and thee is nothing you and i can do about even though it is wrong. but the stupid thing i can't understand is that we all somalians, have the same traditionals so why can't we get married to amongest ourselfs instead of saying you are a different clan. and another thing it is ok for her/his to marry a white or jamaicans but when it comes to marring somalian it is you are a different clan. this is stupidness and i think that everyone should be respect for what they are and who they are instead of judging. so waris please answer me too. peace & harmony

What they get wrong is that everyone is an individual and we should respect their individuality. so sis let me know what u think by the way what u r email address sis, iam intersted in u r veiws sis.

| | Friday, December 08, 2000 - 07:44 pm Salaam guys......... i think if ur parents dont allow u to merry some1 from a diff. clan than urs...........then do what eva pleases ur parents................u only got one parents.............and obeying them is from the obedience of Allah................men and women come and go................it would really hurt me if i fall in love with a man and when i wanted to merry him my mom said No cuz of his clan.............so i talk to her and ask her what clans she wont be happy with..........and i try to stay away.............. I know that is wrong..............and i truely dont believe in it.............but what can i do if i wanna please my mother........my only mother........... The bad thing is its not only parents who got that kinda belief...............i got friends who r my age who say 'uf' to some clans............... last Anon..........How u gonna convince a 40+up year old parent to change something they believed in for ever!!! i think that is pretty hard!!!! till lata adios
