Cabdibille...no offence bro but u sound real dumb. A sijui person is one who was either born out of somalia or left there quite young, and it doesn't mean that he/she can't read/write or speak af-soomali. Lots of them read and write the language but they still got the title "sijui".....so, u still consider them as outcasts??? think bout that before u jot down trash next time....
And by the way.....u have no right whatsoever to tell ppl that U (of all ppl) will decide whether they r somali or not.....

ABC: If you ask me, I would say it is xenophobia. However, tht is not something akin to Somalis. The phenomena is present in every culture, creed and you name it.
You will notice that when you get to know each other (both the Somalis and the Sijuis), you will be surprised to see how nice the other party is.

how could you be so positive and say something that is beneficial to whole community.
I was wondering why somalis lack sense?.
my point is that this whole page is operated in one purpose, which is the spreading ignorance and clan hatred (sijui or mlendo) as well as spreading the propaganda interest of one particular clan against another, based on their deceptive selfish interest of their clannish saga. |

The somalis don't hate sijuis/(SAJUWI as somalis from somalia pronouce)... Aren't sijuis somalis?.
But, I think, somalis from somalia are prejudiced against, the sijuis....somalis from kenya aka sijuis never like idea of tribalism, nepotism, which is rive among somalis from somalia proper....So, when a somali meets a sijui, he/she expects this brother/sis of his/her to help ...but the answer he gets is "sijui".....
Another issue is that somali(sijuis) are very liberal in some aspects of life, alcohol, sex etc and this is seen as diveting from the cultural heritage of somalis who are very conservative in these issues.
Finally, there is no hate between them BUT prejudices based on assumptions, conceptions.
It is time for the the so-called sijuis to understand how somalis in somalia lived ...dictatorship, tribal affiliations, nepotisim, corruption etc.......and the somalis to realise that the sijuis are their own people living as foreigners in their own country (LETE ktambulish)...that the sijuis are victims of Kenyan abuses.....
I would like in this regard to quote a kikuyu proverb which I read sometime back (I love quoting this).... Kagutui gamuchi katiagugu amen"...it roughly translates to: "the oil skin of the house should not be rubbed on the back of astranger".....
So, let us not play strangers to one another .....and rub the ashes of hatred on another..

To sex expert: Like I said in that folder before it was removed, if your discussion on the topic you proposed will be based on sound Scientific evidence and pure religious verdict, then you have my support. Otherwise, I will join the fight in advocating censoring of such topics on Somalinet. The reason being every Tom, dick or Harry, or every MOhammed, Ahmed or Abdi, will have their two cents in and confuse the heck out of our Teens. Like I said earlier, you might have the right intentions in addressing a problem but the medium u used is not the best in my opinion. You know what the rest of my proposals were, so I'm not gonna bother repeating myself here.
Now about Somalis hating Sijuis or vice versa, like I said earlier on, it is pure fear of the "other" aka xenophobia. The solution to this is to rid ourselves of igorance and realize that we need each other. shifting blames around is not gonna get us anywhere. Just judge everyone on an individual basis and we'll all get along.
Wanaagasane: Cousin, I will disagree with you on the point that sijuis are liberal on the aspects you mentioned. If anything, I think we/they are more conservative than the other party and follow the Islamic teachings to a geater extent.
ABC: FYI, wanaagsane is a sijui. Born and breed. So I guess you fell victim of the generalization/assumption phenomena. |
