" Short Story "
A woman woke up one morning and found three old men with long flowing beards sitting at her doorstep when she opened the door.
She said, "I don't know you, but you must be hungry. pleace come in and have something to eat,"
"We can't do tha. Only one of us can come into your house. We don't go into a house together."
they replied.
"Why is that.?" asked the woman, amized.
One of the old men expalained.
"His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his companions "And he is Success," he said pointing to the other. "I am Love. Now go in and discuss with your family which of us you want to invate to your home.
The old woman went in and told her husband about the old menand their strange conditions.
The husband was overjoyed.
"How nice," he said.
"Since this is the case,let us invite Wealth.let him come and fill our home with wealth,"
His wife disagreed.
"My dear, why don't we invite success? We will then be the envy of all our neighours. What is the use of Wealth without success?"
Their dauther-in-law was listening from a corner of the house to the whole conversation and she joined the discussion.
"Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love. This is certainly a greater gift than Wealth or Success," she said.
"Let us heed or dauther-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife . " Go an invite Love to step into our house."
The woman went out and asked the threeold men, "which of you is Love? lpeace come ine and be our guest."
Lovbe got up and started walking with towards the house. The other two got up and fllowed.
Surprised, the woman asked Wealth and Success, "I did not invite you. I invited only Love. Why are you two coming in?"
Love, Welth and success replied together: If you had invited Welth or Success the other two of us would have stayed out. But wherever Lovegoes we fllow him.
"This it has always been and will always be. Wihcever home invites love to be their guest, they automatically invite Wealth and Success.
" It is another mather that they appear in different forms in different families."
