It has been long long years, but I am still
haunted by the memories of my house, my school, and
my friends, my eyes are filled with tears as
I am writing these lines now, all i want to do
is to be there again, to taste the beautiful
weather again, i have tried to forget but i
could'nt do it.
To all who may read these lines, let us the new
generation make a promise for a better future,
you may say that I am a dreamer, but this is the
only way that i can make it through..
Dreaming had become like the air that i breath, I
have travelled a lot..seen most of Africa..Asia
Europe, and now America..still dreaming of old
Xamar.

To: Cayni Iimaan,
Oh! what a sad story we all Somalis have to tell. In 1987, I have seen my best friend got murdered in Hargeisa.(I was a north-eastern lad at the time, not now),then in 1990, I personaly fled from Xamar, and oh! girl what a bloodshed have I witnessed till I boarded that dinky boat at Kismayo. My memories are still here with me, though I have lived in USA for the last six years. I have lost 18 of my immediate family in Somalia's civil war. My life will never be the same. (I have to wipe the tears from eyes). Today, I have to way of paying a respect visit to my mother's grave at km 13 near Xamar, because of insucurity. We, Somalis, in the overseas countries, will never ever enjoy the xeebtii liido or xeebtii berbera, or hilibkii adhiga ahaa, amase inantii quruxda badneeyn oo aad arkaysay iyada oo diric jabuuti laga keenay ku laafyoonaysa. All you see here are PANTS, PANTS and CAMBUURO. What a sad story sister. Rabbi aan u barino inuu nabad ka dhaliyo wadankeenii hooyo.
I am with you sister, let us join hands in those memories. If you have any pictures or writtings please contact me at Nabad@hotmail.com, or alim@pns-mn.org
Mahadsanid walaaashay.
