lulka, i thought that, in the somali language, whenever you end the word KA has masculinity and the word TA has femininity. for example, the name LUL which is a female name could be LUL-TA or LUUSHA and the name LIIBAN which is a male name could be LIIBAN-KA. you see, the name bashir could be bashka. bashir can not be bashta. if you call a man bashta, he will not like it because that sounds like a feminine name. also, the name hodan can be hodanta; not hodanka. hodanka sounds like a masculine name.
i think you would want to marry someone who you think is beautiful to you; you do not want to marry someone who is not beautiful to you. if you marry someone who you think is not beautiful interms of looks, then you would not be attracted to him. it is not fair to him or you to that you marry someone like that. i want a lady to marry me only if she thinks that i'm attractive to her. if i marry a lady and i do not think she is beautiful, there would not be chemistry between us. that means i have to close my eyes every time i want to have intimate relationship with her and think someone else. i would not be fair to her that i do this to her. i hope you understand what i'm saying. i think it is very important that you marry someone who looks good to you. this consideration is as important as considering other reason you marry for someone like personality and values. therefore, there is nothing wrong wanting beauty and good looks in a woman that you want to marry. at least, i would want someone who pleasing to my eyes every time i look at and smile at her. |

lulka, if you say that--- looks are nothing (not important) and personality (not the looks) is the only thing that is worth of marrying a person, then know that personality and the way someone behaves can change to good or bad. for example, you got married to some one whom you found to be un-attractive person. this person has great personality---or you got married to someone whom you found to be attractive person. this person do not have good personality. now, which one is easy to get a long with or is easy to have intimate with. what i mean is that, most of the times, behaviors can change from good or bad. an un-attractive person who has great personality, for example, can change his or her behavoir to bad. also an attractive person who has bad persoanality can change his or her behavoir to good. now, which one do you think people can influence to change easily? which one--the looks and the behavoir--can be changed?
lulka, usually, when you are looking for someone or you meet someone the first time----that person forms an impression of himself on you. the first thing you notice is his looks(attractiveness) before his personality, right? looks is the first thing people look for or see in a person; then, other thinks. in fact, almost all people do not get marry to a person they found to be un-attractive. almost all people marry a person they think is attractive. what i'm saying is that you do not marry somone because he is ugly. even if you marry somone who you think is ungly and he knows about how you feel about him in his looks, the person will always have insecurity all the times that you are married to him. it is not fair to him that you marry him. he rather find someone who thinks he is attractive. |

I think there are no "hard and fast rules" when it comes to finding the right person. If there was a formula as such many relationship would not have ended in despair. I personally think, the best one can do is to get to know the person before hand by giving the time necessary for that. Another piece of advice is always hope for the best and at the same time be prepared for the worst. You never know what is in store for you. |

Khadra, I do not know if Kamal is here, but i'm going to answer for him. shaving arm-pits is sunna. it is part of an islamic hygene. there are hadeeths that talk about shaving the arm-pits. therefore, both men and women are recommended that they shave the hair under their arms. |
