Anymous, I feel your pain sis...I'm in love too, but sometimes he hurts me so bad that I think that we shouldn't be together...we've both had our ups and downs...but we always seem to be getting back together...I remember one time we had the worst fight ever and he made me feel so bad (vise versa), I mean at that point I thought it was over for good, but he called me the next day and acted like nothing happened...when I asked him why he called, he said he had no idea....he couldn't stop himself...
Sis no one can tell you exactly how you can be sure you love someone...love hits everyone differently...but when it does, I'm sure you'll be able to tell the difference.
Everyone has doubts sis, you're not the only one.
Sis, ask yourself simple questions...I mean, how often do you think about him? Do you feel hurt when he does something you don't like? Do you want the best for him? Do you want to spend the rest of your life with him?
If most of your answers are yes, then you really do have something with that person, you obviously care about them....if you want to spend the rest of your life with them...then that's is a serious matter.
