Feminism is a trap laid for the credulous and foolish. The feminist agenda has nothing to do with making life easier or better for the average woman on the street. For a muslim woman even less. Especially now that equality of opportunity is more or less the norm in society.
In fact an argument can be made that it is making things worse for poor and middle class women that are the majority of card-carrying feminists. Take the case of the feminist woman on welfare with succesive boyfriends who father numerous children from her. Men who are so alienated that they can't take the risk of commiting to a woman. Meanwhile she struggles through her life of quiet desparation as her children inevitably succumb to drugs, teenage pregnancy and incarceration. What has this lady got in common with her "sisters" like Greer and Steinem? Nothing.
There is no such thing as female and male. Feminism is a false idealogy. There is only POWER and lack of it. There is the establishment on the one hand and on the other, the oppressed little people which form the vast bulk of the populace. The powerful raise false issues which divert the attention of the masses away from the pillage and looting perpetrated by the rich corporations aided, abbetted and protected by the political class(democrat, republican, conservative liberal it is all the same) with the academicians providing the intellectual and philosophical foundation that undergirds this whole incestuous and foul enterprise.
So the energy of the masses is depleted as they erect false barriers along racial and gender lines. You will see the lower middle classes being turned on the poorest of the poor with constant complaints about welfare and the laziness and immorality of the poor welfare single mother while they scarcely heed the outrageous sums being pocketed by Wall Street plunderers. You see families torn apart as the whole institution of marriage is degraded and divorces made easy and men flee marriage and commitment. Balance of power tilted in favour of one gender to the detriment of the other leading to a whole generation of alienated men who are permanently at odds with their womenfolk. All the while the establishment(comprised of both men and women in an exclusive club) is safe and secure knowing that these gender wars will keep the spotlight away from their looting.
Compounding all these errors the masses stay away from the polls as special interest groups and their issues dominate the election campaigns.
Sisters if you are members of the powerful elite then you are the ones who are pulling the strings and you are probably pissed off now that I am blowing up your scam. But if you are not, feminism is a false idealogy and give it a good scrutiny and try to itemise what exactly it can do for you, your Somali community both male and female.
