Dedicated to the greatest power within you, your power to love, and to all those who help you share its magic.
Most of all for me, to "QALI SHEIKH CABDI" my beloved mother of whom i lived without for the last 10 years.
Have you ever had the experience of being on the roll, the feeling that you could do no wrong? A time when every thing you touch is a success, every game you play you win, every answer you give in the class is the right one. You have probably had the opposite experience too. When nothing seems to go right, every door was locked, every thing you tried turned out wrong.
Whats the difference? You are the same person. You should have the resources at your disposal. So why do you produce dismal results one time and fabulous results the next time? Even the greatest athletes have days when they do every thing right and then the opposite.
The differnce is the physicological state you are in. There are enebling states-confidence,love,inner strength,joy,belief-that tap great wellsprings of personal power.
There are paralyzing states-confusions,depressions,fear,anxiety,sadness,frustration-that leave us powerless.
Understanding state is the key to understanding change and achieving excellence. Our behaviour is the result of state we are in. We always do the best we can with the resources available to us, but sometimes we find ourselves in unresourceful states. I know there have been times in my life when, while in particular state, i did something which lator i regretted or was embarassed about, maybe you have too. Its important to remember these times when someone treats you poorly. Thus you creat a sense of compassion instead of anger.
After all those who live in a glass house should not throw stones. Remember that waiter who was rude to you, she was not her behaviour, she was just in state of which she did not know how to take charge of it. The key is then to take charge of our states and thus our behaviour.
A state can be defined as a physicological processes happening within us, in other words the sum total of our experience at any moment in time.
Most of our states happen without any conciouse direction on our part. We see something and we respond to it by going to a state. It may be a resourceful and useful state or unresourceful and limiting state, but there is not much that most of us do to control it. The differnce between those who fail to achieve their goals in life and who succeed are the difference between those who can not put themselves in a supportive states and those who can consistantly put themselves in a state that supports them in their achievements.
The first key to directing your state and producing the results you desire in life is to learn to effectively run your brain. In order to do this, we need to understand little bit about how it works. We need to know what creats a state in the first place. For centuries, man was fascinated by ways to alter his states and thus his experienceof life. He has tried drugs, ritual, music, sex, food, hypnosis. These things all have their uses and their limitations. However, you are now going to be exposed to much simpler ways that are equally powerful and in many cases quicker and more precise.

END OF PART ONE:
Let me know if you want me to continue the above or if you think its useless and i should stop wasting my time. Let me hear your opinion.

Do not leave us hanging now...not after all that philosophical talk to awaken a great curiousity in all of us.They say "CURIOUSITY KILLED THE CAT...AND SATISFACTION BROUGHT IT BACK" so go on and let the games begin brother.Thanks.

Until then peace, love and craziness to you all.

To all of you who found the above topic interesting thank you and I shall continue till I can't see tonite! for all those who thought it was useless, well you are just impatiant and Hopefuly you will one day find the time to read and absorb.

continued:
If all behaviour is the result of the state we are in, we may produce different communications and behaviours when we are in resourceful states then we will when we are in unresourceful one. The next question I can almost feel u ask would be "What creats the states" we are in?
There are two main components of state, The first is our internal representations, and the second is the condition and use of our phsycology. What and how you picture things, as well as what and how you say things to yourself about the situation at hand, create the state you are in and thus the kinds of behaviour you produce. Example:- How do you treat your Boyfriend or Girlfriend when he or she comes home much later then promised? Well, your behaviour will greatly depend on the state you are in when your partner returns, and your state to a large degree will be determind by what you have been telling yourself in your mind as the reason for their delay.
If for hours you had been picturing this person you care about in an accident, bloody, dead,or hospitalized, as the person walks in the door you may great him or her with tears or a sigh of releif, or a big hug and a question of what happened. These behaviours spring from a state of concern. However, if instead you pictured your partner to be having an affair, or if you told yourself over and over that this person is late simply because he or she just doesn't care about your time or feelings, then when they arrive at home, you Know your self the kind of reception that you are going to give them! As a result of the state you were in. Out of state of feeling angry, or used, a whole new set of behaviours results.
The next question would be "What couses one person to represent things out of a state of concern, while another creats internal representations that put her in a state of distrust or anger? Well there are many factors. We may have modeled the reactions of our parents or other whole models to such experiances.
If, for example, When you were a child, your mother always worried when your father came
home late, you may also represent things in a way that worries you. If your mother talked on how she could not trust your father, you may have modeled that pattern. Thus our beleifs , or attitude, values and past experiances with the particular person all affects the kind of representations we will make about their behaviours.
There is an even more important and powerful factor in how we perceive and represent the world, and that is the condition and our pattern of use of our own phsycology. Things like mucular tension, what we eat, how we breathe, our posture, our overall level of biochemical functioning, all have a huge impact in our state. Internal representation and phsycology work together in a cybernetic loop. Anything that afects one will automatically affect the other.
So changing states involves changing internal representation and changing phsycology. If when your lover is supposed to be at home, your body is in a resourceful state, you will probably perceive that the person is stuck in traffic or on the way home. If,however, you are for various resons in a phsycological state of great muscular tension or extremly tired, or if you are experiancing pain or low blood suger, you will tend to represent things to yourself in a way that may magnify your negative feelings. Think about it:
When you are feeling phsysically vibrant and totally alive, dont you perceive the world differently then when you are tired or sick? The condition of your phsycology literally changes the way you represent and experience the world.
When you perceive things as been difficult or upsetting, doesn't your body follow suit and become tense?
So these two factors, internal representations and phsycology, are constantly interacting with each other to creat the state we are in. And the state we are in determines the type of behaviour we produce. Thus to control, and direct our behaviours, we must control and direct our state;
and to control our states, we must control and conciously direct our internal representaions(What we tell our-selves about situations) and phsycologies.
Just imagin being able to be 100 percent in control of our state in any moment in time!
Thats powerful! And you too know how to do it, so why not "JUST DO IT".
Well brothers and sisters as said at the begining I will write till I cant see any more As you all now know that its a physical condition of tiredness that triggered my state and thus is the reason of my behaviour which is to suspend this topic now . Thats been in control Knowing exactly whats happening inside you and why.
With your requests I will continue to where ever we end up in!

All take a great care of youselves:
Peace and nothing but Love:
Tariq Ahmed...

To Tariq:

A great thinker and Greek philosopher called Archimides whom I best remember to have discovered that...when an object is immersed in water either in a container or uncontained, the weight of the water displaced is exactly equal to the weight of the object immersed in the water!! I believe he was indulging himself in a luxurious hot oil bath when he made this discovery and in doing so..he shouted the word "EUREKA!!"

Okay enough Physics, but I just had to quote him and I believe the word means I've cracked it!!or something along those lines.Nevertheless,I should thank you for taking it upon yourself to educate us on internal representations, one's state of mind and their interpretation of various aspects of their lives...you know the whole lot!I think that for some of us it is an awakening which simultaneously holds a very refreshing feel to it...just lovely!

Keep up the good work...I speak for myself when I say that I'm a sucker for educated, witty company!

Until next time comrades, peace, love and craziness.

Muna.

Hi Tariq, thanks for sharing that with us. It's like when someone write something or anything then it doesn't really appeal to me but when someone writes what they think or feel and it's interesting then it appeals to me more. That was truly interesting for me to read because i have found some of the things in my own life. Like if i have an agrgument with someone then my emotional state is not healthy, it is unbalanced and i feel stressed all day. Or if i deprive myself of sugar or chocolate i start to feel down (which affects my ability to work). So basically you have to keep all the states in your body+mind balanced or they will interfere with each other. Am i right or even close to thinking along your lines?
