Hmm haa:
What can I say life is good to the last drop. I was wondering if all these people who seem to have a good shoulder on their headz come together one day, and have a conference. We should teach our younger generatation good moral Values. Not all youths are educated on the subject of "where did Somalias originated from. I myself am guilty. Please I would love to hear any ideas of any one of your bright, and funny people have!! I would like to get some pecies of information that may help our people so please be encouraged to post your thoughts!! (we have docotrs, hostrians, poets, and our briliant young generation like myself (just kidding)!! Keep them coming!!

One love

Hey AYannick,

It's me again and of course as usual I have something to say about almost anything and everything I deem to be decent. And in this case I would say that your idea is rather thoughtful, maybe even sheer genius.I think that getting together and trying to educate the younger generation of our origin would be an excellent idea...and I might not exactly qualify as being one of the younger generations of today but I am guilty of ignorance as far as our heritage is concerned. Not a fact of life I'm proud of sharing or displaying on my resume..lol.Have fun with this.Until then peace, love and craziness to you all.

@yo ayanic

Interest eh eh eh, Ok Ok, knowledge and understanding of where we originated or the history of Somalis is helpful and important. To me not that important. After seeing my peeps talk about Somalis as Arab....

I for myself, need intake of that (Where we originated from).
It is not suprissing, nor perhaps embarrassing to consider Somali people as Arab. (I'm always, and will be against Somalia to be in the Arab league). But I would like to see others how feel or felt about this..

I'm out! and N/Americans Good luck with your exams!!!!!!!!!!!
specially, you Ayaanic......

Tel me, that baby Bush won the election.
Stay away the Bushes!!! eight.....

Ayaanick,

I agree with ya about the conference idea, superb I must say. But I believe our people got a lot of issues as a society that they need to deal with and until they reach that stage, our "heritage" will be foggy. Just like Leeroy was mentioning, Somali is thought to be ARABS. Hell I think Somalis were always there, and they are AFRICANS, period. Yeah we've mingled with arabs...But we are still Somalis or "Punt" as the Ancient Egyptians use to refer to us. I hope you are catching a bit of my drift here.

Muna
If you don't mind me asking, what age group do u belong to? I am asking this because you said"I might not exactly qualify as being one of the younger generations of today" and I believe you are one of the brightest, intellectuals in Somalinet that I had ever come across. NOt to mention Ayaanick and others undoubtly. So plzz, do answer this question. Laterzzz.

To Sistaluv,

I didn't mean to confuse you or anyone for that matter about that little comment I made...perhaps I had a poor choice of words.I am 21 years of age and what I meant to say is that there are people younger than myself who are more in need of understanding the origin of the Somali people. However, that doesn't mean that I don't need to learn either..it just means that the younger you are,the less likely you are to seek strength from your roots.I mean for the ones younger than us MTV and BET are giving them all the knowledge they think they need to know about being black...which in my eyes is not the same thing as being African!!!Thank you so much by praising me so...you know things like that could very well end up getting to my head...lol.Let me know if I cleared up the mix up or created a new one!!!Peace, love and craziness.
PS...do you chat under Sistalove by any chance??

I just can't wait to go home, and have some of my mothers cooking(yummi) Bush hasn't win the election, it is very close, but I think he is. yes I did vote for "Gore", but it seems like it didn't do any good(maybe next time).

MUNA&SISTAHLUV

I want to do a project this summer Insha Allah, and perhaps have couple of you come and speak at the conference, I am trying to put some documents, as far as (TV. goes),,,so please help me. I just wanted to be a day where we can come together share ideas, and exchange some knowledge. Wish me luck, and keep on praising me.

Hey Ayannick,

Well if we're going to talk about age and being young,I must say technically that I am younger than you...I'm turning 21 in exactly 10 days so until then woman...I'm only 20 years of age!!lol.
Hey seriously speaking that conference idea would be an absolutely marvellous idea.Woman such brilliance...you never cease to amaze me and it would be my honour to help you out in any way I can and make it the success it deserves to be.Keep me posted on just what you're planning on and maybe we could discuss it in depth and compare notes aight!!Ayannick does that mean that you're a Scorpio??...if so no wonder you're sooooo good..it takes one Scorpio to truly be able to keep up with another one's maddness and vitality for life!lol.

So everybody out there who has the mental capacity to understand and read this get out there and help this unbelievably brilliant lady Ayannick bring our community together...I MEAN IT,DON'T MAKE ME COME OUT AND FORCE YOU..LOL.

Until next time peace, love and craziness.

Muna N' Ayaanick:

Goshh, guess what? I guess am the youngest of the bunch here, am turning 21 soon as well. Girlz, I love to help in anyway, ....as far as contributing to writting of scripts and research goes, instead of being on T.V. (am a shy gal!). Ok, one more q girls, are you all in college? Ayaanick, just like Muna suggested, post whatever work or ideas you have so far...however preliminary!!!Good luck with whatever outcome sistuh. With that, I shall end. To everyone in advance, enjoy your weekend.

P.S.: I know that my english writting here is informal, I want to keep it that way. Besides, I don't have much time to log on here ( given my hectic schedule as a full-time student + Work), So I tend to write in haste. Oh, I am not trying to compete with some of you, my god, your vocabulary...are off the hook!!!!!! Buh Bye folks

Subxaana laahi Casaa Wajalah: Where in the name of Allah did you get the idea that Me and Muna are(LES). Akhas...you just expressed your inner self, but I am not here to judge. I am trying to do a project, and if you can't help please stay out of my way, cause I am known to run over (doqoniin) like yourself. Don't you dare ever call me a "Les", and I mean it. Intaad waxaad qabato wayday baad iska caayaysaa umada Muslimka ah. War wax iskula har oo orad, it's seems like to me(barqdaad cooska soo daaqdaa).

Yes indeed I am a full time student as well, and it's killing me, I am so ready for a break, and I think we only have about five weeks or so left of school! I know it is hard when you are working, and going to school at the same time, I should know I have been doing it for quiet sometime. However luck me, I didn't have to work this semester(I have a sister who loves me and she was kind of to payy off my schoo)<you can borrow her too> I am willing to share<See> well anyways good luck with studying, and keep your head up girly!!

whats up ya'll. you guys are onto something, but like one of you said, we as somali people have a lot of other things to worry about, before we can start educating ourselves about our past. i think that we should teach our young how to brake the cycle of qabiil hatered. we should just hope that nothing happens to jeopordize the new president and government.
i am out like the whites when their black hawk went down.

I couldn't agree more..well put I must say. However ambitious this project sounds let me be the first to say that I feel that world there is no such thing as an impossible undertaking!!! I firmly believe that there is nothing in this world we couldn't do,if we just put our minds to it.I love being challenged and moreover this is an endeavour I would love take on.

To Sistaluv:

Girl tell me about it,I go to college and work full-time as well.Last spring I tried to do both full-time and I almost lost my sanity..lol!But anyway,I'm hanging in there as are you I presume. And oh thanks for complimenting on my vocabulary...as I mentioned earlier praise works wonders for a woman...I'm sure you've experienced it first hand too sis!

To Ayannick:

I'm sorry that the whole lesbian thing has been dragged over to your page as well...let me offer you my sincerest apologies.I believe I am partly to blame for making that comment to begin with.I hadn't intended to taint your page as well with such misplaced and degrading remarks. We are here to make the best of what Allah has given us which starts with our mentality...but some people just don't seem to grasp the very simple concept that we are here to make a positive and consciencious change in our Somali community! But anyway, let me know what you've thought of so far and we can perhaps go from there. And remember folks determination is the key to everything. You all know the famous saying MIND OVER MATTER...let's apply it here.

Until next time comrades, peace, love and craziness to you all.

Hi Guys, I am really impressed the civilized way you guys exchange ideas and ...your thoughts, I think I need help!. I been doing research about somalis and where they came from almost one decade. Needless to say it was unfruitful, due lack of constructive feed back among my somali species. All I had was those lame arabianization stories, as well as other foolish stuff, but if you guys thinK you have any idea or will like to contrbte please feel free...

You really shouldn't say all those things...naa ma waalantahay???Ma socodka baa rabtaa inu iga dumo??!..ilaa heerkaas qof dumar ah lama amaano!!!But hey you know that I'm going to take those compliments and run with them anyway right??!!

Like you said in one of your messages...I am beginning to feel the LOVE too!My dear sister you must of course know that I think of myself as a blessed soul...truly God must have been smiling down on me when He let my path cross with yours.I'm ecstatic that you value sincerity. Believe me there are a lot of people who think that I am either too naive or just plain stupid to expect people to have good, clean hearts.More often than most girl, people think that I am downright insane for detesting people that have hidden agendas or evil motives in general...I make a consciencious and tireless effort to lock them out of my world..I rather be ALONE than associate with people of that kind!!

It is people like you that I am saving myself for..lol!But really as we say in Somali...uur kaaga baa saafi ah!And I'm crazy about that..for me it's required for me to let you in my heart.
I expect that we will meet one day and share the opportunity to do a great things..They say GREAT MINDS THINK ALIKE...were you expecting anything else to happen when you met up with me??!

Peace, love and craziness to you all.

Walaalo, I know it is hard, gathering information, about where somalains originated from, so give me til thanksgiving that's when I get to go home, and meet some old folks, they might be able to help. I am really busy with school and studying that I hardly have time for anything else. Insha Allah I will update you if anything comes up. What actually inspired me to do is a program in my school called "PAN African conference and it is mainly for African American students, and they have all these speakers come and talk abou the history of their people. I thought to myslef I why can't we as somalians have something like that as well. Insha Allah this summer is when I tend to kick this even up, and I have my brother who will actually help me, I have speard the news with other fellow school mates whom are somalians themselves, and they said they will contribute to the event as well. My part is the media...so I will like I said update you on how it goes.!! There is a library I was told by one of my school mates that has all the Somalian history books, and I think it is located in Seatle Washington somewhere don't quote me on this, but I think that's what I heard from, I will ask to make sure if that is right!!

On Love

Thanks Ayaanick appreciated your offer and the time you will invest near future about this research.
As for African American, I did helluva research about their history such as,slavery, socio-economics and lot of other things that I wanted to put on my personal webpage for young somalis in order to differentiate (my somali youth and their cultural background). and other negro race in North America, after I have seen some identity crises among my young somali generation.
I have decided to fight back and give them something they might need to know and be proud of.
something they can identify themselves and their heritage as a land of Kings and Queens (not as a descendent of slaves).
I hope you understand what I am talking about, look at the young ones(specially those light comers) all those wanna be's, who wants to look like, act like, sound like a negro.
calling their queens B!@# and H*& and think that is cool.

Thank you
