hey there!!!
i was wonderin if ne_one out there could maybe relate or have advice for me with this problem im having???
see... lately i have found myself undeniably blaming and resenting my parents for things happening in my own life. The reason is... i honestly feel like they're stoping me from being who i want to be.
so without dwelling 2 much on the story i wanna let u know that i love helping people in general with anything and everything... so i try and do alot of volunteer work for young muslim girls and boys in our community as well as old folks who are ill or lonely... neway my parents havent been educated, as many somali parents, and they are so suspicious of everything i do that, more often than not i find myself retreating from activities and events that would otherwise nurture my happiness just so they dont question my motives...
furthermore i am starting universty this February majoring in medical science...so that will of course present more opportunities for me to work with people but i dont want to do anything thats going to cause problems within our family...as most, if not all, my older brothers and sisters have had the same problem and they all had the same solution.....get married...which i obviously am not ready for...so should i accept my fate or try rocking the boat a bit??????????????

Ask your big bro & sis if they made the right choice. If they regret what they done
while pleasing your parents, then you should
try to find another solution.
try not to rock the boat (certainly not with a name like yours) they doing everything out of love..And you know that.

i don't know about the phsycho dude there but to be honest with you..
you know your self and you only got one life to live don't do anything for your parent you might regret latter on in life ..shariifo you seem like a smart girl have respect for momy and dad but don't let them run your life they don't live for you you live for you...keep that in mind sis..

thank u both for your inputs... to answer your question psycho no i dont belive any of them are happily married...actually some just got married to the 1st person that came along just so they could move countries... and pimp bro it is so much easier said then done...trust me they are not the sort to get over things quickly so... im still unsure what to do... anymore ideas??? |

Sharifa I understand what you mean. My foster paretnst is the same every time I say that I will go to someone I want to help they are like say why? let someone als help that person or have that Person ask you for help. Let them know what you just told ous and make them a to lisen to you and some way it will work belive if you parents love you then they will understand you. But don't give up with what you are doing if you love it and really help the people's so go for it sis.
I know that when you see some one that needs help but don't ask for it or when some one is sad that the first thing that you want to do that moment is to help that person as much as you can. With litel kindnes you come long and have faith for your parents.
