You people are not learning anything from what has happened to Somalia because of the tribal division that is nothing but a tool used by the European colonizers to facilitate seamless rule over Africa. Even today, the minority christian ethnic group called TIGRE(Agame) are using that old principle of divide and conqour in east Africa including Somalia. I am not more qualified than you are to tell you that you people are one in everything from culture to religion. The only division that exists among you is the imaginary and intangible thing called tribe. It is enough to take everyone beyond your first cousin simply as a Somali. If you love each other enough as Somalis, then you love each other as relatives, tribes, muslims and as brothers and sisters because all these things are the elements of the Somali nation. What do I care? you may ask. I am your distant cousin and I don't like what I see. Even we, the Oromos are trying our best to come together as oromos despite our regional and religious differences. So, we try not ask what region the person from or what religion he/she follows because we know that our enemies try to take advantage of our differences as they have for centuries. Please those of you who try to hung on to tribalism, come to your senses and think for your nation not for your tribe.

Thank you very much for reminding us (Somalis) about our lack of nationalism and dependency of our tribalism. I have been trying for number of years to talk to Somalis about this very issue, and I don't think my people are ready to finally put tribalism to rest.
