Anonymous | Wednesday, December 20, 2000 - 07:58 am I'm so sad to hear that so many Somalis are moving to Sweden. Sweden is a beautiful country and it's Scandinavian culture unites it's neighbouring countries. I've always enjoyed my visit in the Swedish Sweden. Unfortunately we have also these Somalis in Finland. Most of them (78%) got no job and most of them commit crimes as they're paid more than an unemployed Finn for doing nothing! So that's human rights! God jul, svenskar! Jussi Finland |
Anonymous | Saturday, February 24, 2001 - 10:03 am Your message is effected by emotions. I didn't write that message to insult anyone, it's my honest opinion. What do you reach by insulting me "satana helveti finne" (which actually should be "saatanan helvetin finne" ;-))? My Swedish skills aren't very good, so could you tell me, what the word "frmgångsrik" means? So then I will know, what I never will be in my life. Correct, Sweden helped Finland in many ways during the Winter War 1939-1940, but as far as I know, Swedes didn't have to send any food! Finland was left alone when the Soviet Union invaded our country. Sweden had made earlier a contract, in which it promised to defend 'Åland' together with the Finns, if it's safety would be threatened. But the only help sent to Finland was some volunteers. I think you should thank Finns (also my grandpa), who stopped the Soviet attack. It's not guaranteed that they'd have stopped on the border between Sweden and Finland... I look forward to hearing your opinion! |
SOMALI | Tuesday, February 27, 2001 - 06:09 am Well As you said its a lot of emotions. I think its a big mistake to generalize people like you did. "78%of somalis are unemployed" to be honest, it takes a lot of hard work and research to come this conclusion. It happens time to time that people meet some difficulties in their home countries and have to leave to get some safer and better place. Many Europians moved to America for some reasons like poverty, religious and political. Same thing happened to somalis, some have to leave their homes to get safer place....and let me tell you that no one likes moving to other place unless he or she has to. Let me put this way....to fight against sovjet-terror is a brave thing but also the past. The point is what you can do the present time helping others and making the world better place. I am sure your grandfather wanted that too...so dont mess with it. By the way framgångsrik means succesfull |
WhitegirlNorway | Tuesday, February 27, 2001 - 12:13 pm Anonymous, it's ok, send the intelligent people to Norway. Just make sure you stay where you are. In beautiful Finland.... Somali, we need more people like you! Thanks! Next time maybe we will be the ones who need help.... |
SOMALI | Saturday, March 03, 2001 - 11:06 am Whitegirlnorway Tusen tack. I got help when I needed and I´ll give help as long I live. Anonymous Hope Finland shall overcome this ski scandal |
Anonymous | Saturday, March 03, 2001 - 02:38 pm Sorry that my first message was a bit stupid, I admit! I think Somalis and Finns can live in peace in Finland. Both Finns and Somalis have made mistakes. That's maybe because we have so different cultures. In Finland there's very few foreigners (about 1,5%), but the attitudes are changing. But the Somalis seem to have big problems. Only one third of them continue to go to School after finishing the Elementary School (9 years). After all I think the we Finns can learn something from the Somalian culture! About this doping scandal... The whole Finland is still in shock! Only few Finns still believe in Finnish athletes. I have a cross-country skiing as a hobby, althoug I don't think I'm going to watch skiing on TV for a while. |
WhitegirlNorway | Saturday, March 03, 2001 - 03:34 pm Well-well, Anonymous; We all make mistakes... If you only have 1,5% foreginers in Finland, how many of them are Somali? And even if 78% of them are unemployed, it still can't be too many? Now; How many Finns are unemployed?? ....... My-my! You are whining over the wrong subject here my friend... Regarding the doping scandal; It's a scandal to all winter sport countries. Let's hope we all can learn something from the Finnish culture... It's easy to LEARN, but far more difficult to UNDERSTAND what you learn.... Peace! |
Anonymous | Monday, March 05, 2001 - 12:28 pm Anonymouse! Endeed it was a great debate,I appreciate it.I came to Sweden in 1989. I graduated from Tehnical institude in Somalia,I was looking for a work sence then but I didn't get any. However,I was compelled to study another 12 years from basic Swedesh language to Electronic Engineering still I'm searching to get job and I think most of Somalis went through that horrible way. So wheather you are finish or Swedish I hope you people should not blame Somalis or others who could not defend their rights due to many reasons, endeed it's a crime against humanity. The worest thing is when someone makes mistake and still he/sh wants to find out scapegoat,it is very bad habit moraly and ethically Thank you |
