Yes, thanks to SomaliNet Communuity, Somalis took advantage of the internet at its infancy!
     | Unrecorded Date Will it be tottaly different? Most European countries have large immigrant populations. * In Germany they are mainly from Turkey. * In France they are mainly from North Africa and In Britain from Asia and West Indies. These immigrants often provided cheap labour for industry,they are regarded themselves as guest workers who wanted to earn money,send it home to their families and return to their native countries after amassing enough capital to build their own houses,set up their own businesses,open shops and etc. but our somalian people do seem to be going from bad to worse,I ain't pessmistic at all,but what i'm saying is that we can account for no progressive movement at all. it amazez me to look back at our lost decade and feel nosense of closure,on the other hand,being trapped between 2 cultures and really belonging to either,we often feel alienated from society and uncertain about our own identity. I Found myself and my people a drift in this new age,on little reserves and plots of land,we are floated in a kind of grey unreality,ashamed of our culture,unsure of who we are and where we are going,uncertain of our grip on the present,weak in our hope for the future.but i had a glimpse of something better than this for a few brief years. Do you guys know what we want? we want first of all to be respected and to feel we are people of worth,we want an equal apportunit to succeed in life but we can't succeed on our terms,we can't raise ourselves on our norms,we need specialized help in education,we need equal job apportunites for our graduates.it's like having a reserve that looks like junkyard becuz the beauty in the soul is dead. look,now i have a friends in the railwaystation who live in inner-city ghettos,hotbeds of drug trafficking and crime and the sense of gang warfare between rival gangs and something like that. They have droppoed their schools out,they are not even afraid the stigma of being dropped out of the school,however,i tried everything i could to guide them to the right path but they appeared to be having a massaive crush on me as long as they thought i waz using them. just wondering if there is still a dignity in our lives and a feeling of worth in our ourlook. just wondering if the life we are in now will be changed in the next 10 years. just wondering... sorry for prolonging my speech guys.

I was at work the other day and a friend asked me wheather I should go back to my Country as holiday soon....My first answer was No; he was stunned and wanted more detalailed answer, I could not explain to him. I'm sorry to say this, but I will rather remain doubtful about the future of my country instead of hope and expectation.....the negetive stories way far out weights the possitive. therefore, it will be difficult. Somalians belong to Somalia, not to Europe. You have your own country Somalia. Learn to live there. Learn to make Somalia work. There you have your opportunities. In case you succeed to make Somalia work, then you will be respected. I do not like to lie. So I will be honest with you. The Somali people are not compatible ie. good for Europe. You are so different, you must live in your own country.

In other words get some self respect and do something for your own country. You should also learn to respect other people. If there are countries where Somalis are not welcome it should not be a big deal. Just respect them and stay out of their countries. Do not expect to be welcomed to any country if you are not willing to do anything for your own country. You are welcomed nowhere if you cannot respect other people and their views. If you are so smart your people claim, there should be no problem to you to move to other countries. But tell me why Somalis are not willing to live in Somalia. It is your duty to build it, not anybody elses.

They are regarded as a burden, not as contributors. Self-esteem among the Somalis seems to be very high. They think they smart, beautiful and hard working. That lie is spread by white idealists and traitors. The European economies are not dependant on immigrants. - Hard working Somalis are needed in Somalia. But tell me, why Somalis do not want to live in Somalia. If Somalis are hard working and smart, why they are not willing to develop their own country. The Finns owe nothing to Somalis. Go away. We have had several famines, just like the african countryes, we didnt flee. We ate forest (believe it or not..). The Last famine in europe was here, at Finland less than 200yrs. ago. We have had infinite number of wars against russians, last 1's just little over 50 yrs. ago. We didnt flee, we fought and remained our independence. But the price we had to pay was exhausting. We also have had the most tragick war of mankind, civil war. We didnt flee, we bleeded. The civil war was ca.80 yrs. ago. 4. This country is redemted with ancesters blood, this is the only country we, The Finns have. We build it, with blood&work 4 generations. We are not gonna give it away, all the nonsence about multiculturalism&multiethnicity is just plain wrong. We owe nothing to anyone, at least to u. This is our land, sacred fatherland. Respect it. I have this feeling that she deliberately provokes people to get a reaction. If that was her intention, then she seems to have succeeded with you. Just few points: People are what they believe to be. "Blood" or national heritage is actually quite a flimsy concept. Germans formed (and still do) the single biggest white group in America during the second world war, yet they fought as ferociuosly as any other American group against their "Blood brethren". No one can deny the Europeannness of Finland or the Finnish people. The fact that Finland falls within the continent of Europe, makes it an unarguable fact. It was interesting to note that Fatiha meant the idea of being Mongoloid as an insult, and you took it as one! May I suggest to both of you that being European is actually in no way better than being a Mongol. The reality is that people of Asian origin have much older and much more deeper civilizations than Europe ever had. They are(Asians)the originators of all the world's religions,invented the wheel, farming, written language, centralised government systems and almost everything else that you can think of as being a cornerstone of Human civilization. So there you go! You should have been proud to be called Asian. The last major European famine was, sadly, only 70 years ago and it was in the Soviet Union. 30 million died and there were widespread and credible reports of cannibalism. The Finns did have a hard a time in their past, and they deserve lots of respect for the way they held on to their independence. It is not, however, quite true to say that they did not emigrate. Some did some did not. It will be silly not to emigrate if you can to escape famine! Patriotism is all well and good in peaceful and prosperous times, but usually self-preservation overcomes any chest-thumping nationalism when things become really bad. In the past, Millions of Europeans left for America, Australia and South Africa escaping plagues, famine, civil wars and religious oppression. Sadly, this timeless human migration and counter migration will continue in the foreseeable future and Finland, like the rest of the world will have to live with that. It is just bad luck for you that you have to end up with Fatiha! But all is not lost. At least you will not have your country taken away from you like the Aborigines, Maoris and American-Indians.
