I think the Somali problem was needed to be addressed in detail. At the same time equal representation should have been accorded to all Somali clans. As you know no statistic have been taken for about 50 years. Therefore, community representatives have been selected based on unreilable statistics taken 50 years ago. I have the liberty to say that is unfair and injust. The influential clans will be over represented and the less influential clans will be under represented. This conference was supposedly to redress past injustices.Unfortunately, the meeting perpetuated past injustices and is creating new ones. This conference called the most opppressed Somalis others. That is a deragatory statement tinged with clan suppremacy, racism, arrogance, discrimination and segregation. On this kind of backdrop,i don't expect much to come from this meeting. What do you think? I also believe the conference should have been held a more neutral venue!
