![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Saturday, February 10, 2001 - 02:06 pm I don't understand why this is happening to me. I am such a clean and hygenic person, i always brush regularly and change my tooth brush every 3 months. Since about six months ago i have developed seriouse halitosis (bad breath). I don't know what to do!! It wouldn't be as bad if i was ugly and had no friends. People always tell me i'm pretty, why am i single and all that. Everyone's wondering why i don't have a b/friend. I have a lotta friends at high school who i'm really embarassed to hang out with. I have become distant with my friends b'cos of my problem. I get funny looks from people when i'm shopping, on the bus, at work, at school, bowling, at home with family, with guys,basically...EVERYWHERE. Now u know what i mean by it's taking over my life!! I don't see what else i can do but stay at home everyday, to quit school or sort it out. I'm soooooOOOOOOoooo embarassed. I'm 19 yrs old!! I'm pretty, i always smell clean and nice, i look nice (trendy). Sometimes i hate myself with disgust cos of my problem. I wish it was my fault (like lack of hygiene) cos then i could fix it!! But it's not my fault, and i don't know what it is!! I'm falling into depression, becoming withdrawn from society, PLEASE, PLEASE help me. YOURS~ DEPRESSED SISTER

Never regret sis on God's creation as you know your very fortunate to look good and have your lixdaada lixaad. Many people are suffering with other majo r health complication some are disapled and some cannot smell some are parralized for all their life from birth so you must compare your self with those and you will feel good. Remember to help the ones that are not as health as you may be this is a lesson for you to feel humanity to others and it may lead you to the rightous path of Janah. Other than that pray and ask God to help you and check out your family doctor he may recomand some sort of medication or a better doctor to discuss with the matter. This is for Cooler, Bro/sis you must not break the heart of a sister and never judge some one on what they will do. In this case you just proved to me and to others the hypothesis that you would proved if you were not her, may I say you would have sucked others mouth and you may already so don't insult a sister that you don'tnknow and asked you a help. If you can help find if not pray for her and give advice that is all. May God bless us all and make us happy in our lives. This is

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Saturday, February 17, 2001 - 10:21 am Deppressed Girl, I do understand your concerns and that is common. But what you need is to see a Dentist to check your teeth and your mouth. Because sometimes a simple cleaning by a dentist could solve the Halitosis. Or you may have other problems like dental abscess (a place in your teeth or mouth that is infected by bacteria and you may not notice it) and the dentist can solve it, again with cleaning and prescribing to you some antibiotics. So, Please first go and see a dentist, if problem persists, I would recommand that you see a doctor, like Your family doctor or Internist or GI specialist, because some systemic or gastro-intestinal disorders can cause Halitosis. There is no need to fall into depression with simple thing that a dentist or doctors can solve easily. Take care sis

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Monday, February 19, 2001 - 01:46 pm TO THE LAST THREE POSTINGS Nothing much has changed, i'm still feeling low. I didn't take it lying down though, i went to see my doc, my dentists and now a fresh breath specialist. I have since also talked to my school councillor which has raised my self-esteem. I would like to write out this sura (alfatixa) for my bro's/ sis that wrote this for me. I am crying because i came here (caafimaad/health section), not knowing whether you would have helped me or laughed at me as 1 person already did. I don't know what i would have done if u didn't help me in this way. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart my brotha's and sisters. I will not give u a smily face, because the advice u just gave me means more to me than that. Instead i will pray for all that helped me(a sis) that needed u at such a needy time for such a sensitive topic. I want to say ALHAMDULILLAAAH THANK YOU ALL AH FOR GIVING ME SUCH KIND AND GENEROUSE BROTHERS/SISTERS. Firstly: IN THE NAME OF ALLAH MOST GRACIOUSE, MOST MERCIFULL AND HIS PROPHET MOHHAMED (peace b upon him). Acudu bilahi minal shaydani rajeem Bisiml lahii rahmaani raheem. Alhamdulilahi rabil caalamiin, ar rahmaani raheem, maaliki yaumideen, iiyaka nac'budu wa iiyaka nastac'een, ihidina siraadal mustageen, siradal ladeena ana-amta alayhim gayril mabduubi alayhim, walad dwaaleen AAAAAMMMMMMEEEEEEENNN

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Saturday, February 24, 2001 - 04:01 am Hello depressed sista. I certainly don't laugh at you.... I had the same problem as you a couple of years ago, and 2 simple things helped me get my fresh breath back. First of all, do you brush your tongue every time you brush your teeth?? If not, then start to do so, alot of germs are hiding in your tongue.... Second, sometimes bad breath comes from the throat as well as the mouth, and a wonderful little tablet called Zinkoral kills the germs that gives the bad smell. Try it, and use it regularly. You can buy it at pharmacys. Good luck to you! And let me know if it's working for you...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Monday, February 26, 2001 - 12:31 pm Hello again! ![]() It has nothing to do with your hygiene, I am sure you are very hygienic. I know exactly how you feel.... The problem (according to my dentist) is usually either in the end of the tongue or in the beginning of the throat. To me it is kinda seasonal. I can feel that something happens during the spring and fall, I guess maybe it's a change in the body system or something... As soon as I feel it I take a couple of ZinkOrals and the problem is over in a few days time... You keep it in your mouth until it's melted, not chew (uhm, not very tasty though...) I have also noticed that certain types of food, especially garlic, can start the process, so I stay away from it as much as possible. So think of what you eat as well.... Zinc is known as very helpful and efficient to kill such germs. I live in Norway. Let me know if you can't find the tablets in your country because then I can send you some if you like? You see, I am convinced that they will help you too. Uh, by the way, female here too.... ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Wednesday, February 28, 2001 - 11:11 am OK, let's see; It's made by a company in Copenhagen in Denmark called EFI AS(LTD.) But I think the product is from Norway, made after an original receipt from the Univerity in Oslo. Hm, yes, I think they might be difficult to get in the UK. But they should have something equivalent? Something with Zinc in it for bad breath? If not, then let me know if you want me to send you some. No problem. :-)

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thursday, March 01, 2001 - 12:47 pm Dear Deppressed Sister: This is most propably related with Helicobacter gastric infection. Ask your Doctor to perform Helicobacter blood test. The course of treatment will not take more than 10 days. The bad breath reason is due to the bacteria which resides in the abdominal gastric area and have nothing to do with mouth hygien what so ever. Dr. Dirie

Hadii kale samee sidan soosocota: Ka soo iibso dawada afka lagu dhaqo Farmasiyaasha sida Coglgate Plax. Soo iibso dental floss. waa xadhko yaryar oo meelaha ay ilkaha isagayimaada lagu nadiifiyo. Si joogta ah u isticmaal labada sheyba. Inkastooy qaali yihiin, electric toothbrushes are also very good. Good luck.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Monday, March 26, 2001 - 03:28 am SALAAMZ to all. TO GAAMKS: thankyou for your advice bro. I will try some of that stuff. I guess it's one of the obviouse cures right? So thanks again. Pour un Garcon dans le etats unis: Hi bro, thanks for your advice, i have already seeked medical help. You see the thing is my dentist gave me a small medical examination and he was like, there's nothing wrong! I couldn't understand that but then when i got on the bus it came back! Call me dumb but i have a feeling it also has something to do with the air around me. It usually comes when i'm in a hot, stuffy environment. However when i'm outside in the fresh air i don't have a problem. This problem has taught me a huge lesson. I mean over the past 3 months i've dropped half my lesons i've bunked all the rest and i got myself into a real bad state of depression. I just put things out of proportion and i made a big deal out if it. I have now come through it by taking ppl's advice with a low self esteem about myself. I say that because having bad breath is embarassing. Your friends smell you and they treat you differntly, not like u but like some dirty, smelly creature. So thanks for ur advice but what i'm trying to say is that halitosis affects ppl more than just in the technical way, yes it may be a medical condition but it also effected me mentalli. At times i felt like there was no way out but to end my life. I thought my education would be over, my job, my friends would leave. But alhamdulillah i'm better now. All because ppl have stood by me, and most of all you guys have helped give me the confidence to do something about it. You guys are sooo kind, i wish ppl were like this in real life because they are not, infact they are very cruel and nasty! asalama calaykum~~~~ ![]()
