     | Thursday, October 05, 2000 - 03:31 pm Salam, Family intermarriages can sometimes cause lot of risk and bring to surface hidden genetical defects in the parents which ,when combine result in defective children.So,to evade this either we have to stop marrying our first cousins or get screened before deadly tragedy becomes a reality.I would like to know what are the commenest genetically inherted diseases in our Somali society?.

If there no genitically inherritable conditions in the family then there is no need to avoid this. Also either mom or dad can pass their conditions to their kids, so you are not save just because your spouse isn't related to your family. If you are want avoid these condions may be you should do family background investigation, medical and genitical check up before getting married.

Why? because any spouse (whether she is related to you or not) can be genitically inheritable disease carrier got it? This is year 2000 my friend blue print of human genetic map was recently discovered. If you can afford you can get all genetic information of any human being and kinds of diseases they might develop.

Both parents are heterozygotes who do not phenetypically Manifest the disorder (that means they look healthy, but they do not know that they are carrying bad genes). One in four of their children will be homozygous for the trait and, in the case of the disease, will phenotypically manifest the disorder (Allaha ha u fududeeyo). Though, there are two different genes when put them together can have the same affect as your alleged "love of power" gene and they are the "love gene" and the "greed gene".
