Arawello | Friday, January 12, 2001 - 09:21 am This invitation comes from lady Arawello and addressed to Galool and MadMac. Salaams to both of you. Here I want tell you that I do not hate you but love both of you to be the best of the humangbeings. I am sure you are two good poeple. Here is the massege. The guidance found in the Holy Quran and recorded words of the Prophet pbuh, is not only for forieng races in some far-away corner of the East, centrues ago. Here are to be found the solutions to all economic, socila , moral and political problems which face nowadays all the minkind. Islam is not cold remote and imporsonal. Muslims have complete faith in avery personal god who not only created and rules the universe but also loves and cares about the faith of each of us. The holyy Quran tells us that Allah is nearer to everyone of us than our jugular veins. The Quarn is divine revelation, it cannot and will never be changed. It is perfect, it cannot be improved, revised or reformed. The Quarn and the Sunna are addresedd to all poeples, in everywhere. Since it is relevent for all times, in all places, it can never become obsolete. |

MAD MAC | Sunday, January 14, 2001 - 08:17 am Arawello I too have a strong personal faith in God. What I don't have is a belief that the Qur'an is divine. |
common | Tuesday, January 16, 2001 - 12:41 am isn't action based on principle. The fact that you don't beleive the Quran is divine is based on faith, soley on faith, while muslims have conformation, in the Quran, in the way it was revealed and the way it is written and the way it is protected, the way it is self referencing, and so on. What is yours based on? I just don't believe it casue my self is the greatest thinker since Status Quo |
Aro | Tuesday, January 16, 2001 - 08:06 am Common, Bro Salaams. that is very good. where does his ( MM) reasons lay? I was reading surah baqara the other day 6;278 I think, and it exactly describes this kind rejection. |
common | Tuesday, January 16, 2001 - 10:22 am Aro salaam sister i will read the sura inshallah |
Miskiin-Macruuf-Waryaa | Tuesday, January 16, 2001 - 01:24 pm Salama... Caraweelo: Sister, a "Mushrikiin" like Mad-Cap-Mac isn't qualify to be greeted this word: Salaam. He doesn't qualify the peace of Allah {S.W.C.} to be wished for him, you could greet him in any other language he wishes but not in this Salaam manner. And I do know that you've appreviated Salaam to be meant 'Salama-Calaykum.' Then, that is the case, thus he, again, doesn't qualify to. And may your efforts be rewarded by Allah {S.W.C.}: Amiiiiiiiin!! ______________________ Nabadeey!! |
Aro | Wednesday, January 17, 2001 - 10:12 am BRO Waryaa, thanks for the concern but I deleberetly chosen salaams. it is just hey and not abbriviation of assalamu alaicum. i think i used to it so now even say to the muslims. Common, bro i think i did not give you the right ayah. i think it was in sura an-caam. |
Idea | Thursday, January 18, 2001 - 08:40 am Aro, Last year, I had this funny spanish client. He knew that I was a muslim...so he used to greet me saying al-salaam alaykum waa rahmatulaahi waa barakatu. Me knowing that he wasn't a muslim...I used to greet him by saying... just "waa calaykum" I think waryaa is right we shouldn't tell non-muslims salaam. Hope anyone corrects me if i m wrong, jazzaakum kul kheer in advance. |
Ansaari | Thursday, January 18, 2001 - 01:11 pm As'Salamu Ala mani'tabi'a huda! I think one can say 'Salam' to anyone muslim or not muslim, but not the completion of as'salamu aleikum warahma.... this is to only muslims since it contains duá. When you say 'Salam' to someone, it means that you said 'peace' to someone and cann't compare with the term 'Salamu'Allah' wich means peace of Allah.

Shaafici | Thursday, January 18, 2001 - 09:30 pm Asalaamu Caleykum Let me see what I can say about the Salaam; Sister Caraweelo did it correctly, it's one of the Muslim characterists that they say "SALAAM" to the ignorants when they meet them or try to preach them and this is mentioned in many places of the quran, such as Suratul-Furqan, and Suratul-Qassass. I think it's very appropriate to say SALAAM to MM and GALOOL because of their ignorance about Islam, it was mentined that an ignorant farmer came to Imamu Maalik and started swearing and cursing the Imam and his family, one of the Imam's student said, O'Imam, talk to him, the Imaam siad, No way, if I do that, then where did I stand on the ruling of Quran...then he read.."WA IDAA KHAADABAHUMUL JAAHILUUNA QAALUU SALAAMAA." I think just saying SALAAM to them is just enough. One more thing, we should not be imitating the culture of Arabs, (not all but some) they are the ones who abbreviate the salaam to just one word, this is BIDCAH, did you not know that you earn anywhere from 10 to 30 rewards from Allah if you finish the Salaam. After all, the prophet scw encouraged us to say it to each other and he mentioned that it's one of the reasons that make us love one another if we only practice. Say it aloud with dignity and count your reward from Allah. Remember you can greet with Salaam even if only one Muslim person is present in a group of non-muslims. Let's see complete Salaams and ignore those that deserve to be ignored meaning the jaahiluun. |
