![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sunday, January 14, 2001 - 08:06 am Salama calaykum ,my somali sisters and brothers. Am a girl who has been married,am divorced now with two lovely boys.I married my husband when i was only 14,15 years old. I got pregnant by him before nikah. At that time i was thinking about an abortion, but i changed my mind.So we told our parents that we wanted to get married. They arranged a nikah 4 us but they didn't know that i was pregnant.I neva grew up in somalia, but as you all know when you live with muslim somali parents, you always hear something like"if your not married and you get pregnant, your kid is a bastard! and you will go to hell!!" Anyways when me and my ex-husband were married we neva practised islam. We use to go out clubbin have our fun.We were both young and didnt have that much knowledge bout islam. But then i stopped everything.I started to pray five times a day, i cut out all the bad things i use to do.I started to read the koran all the time, instead of watching tv!I tried to change our life style. But he wouldn't.he was to tired to pray,he was to tired for everything. He came home late ,i even thought he was cheating. So,during my second pregnancy .We had this huge fight, and we got seperated.I couldn't get my divorce cuz i was pregnant. But what happened was that i met another man.I don't what happened to me,may alah forgive me.What happened was that i had sex with him!Subhanalaah! I regret that everyday!Cuz today i have more knowledge bout my religion, and i also know the punishment of a sin like the one i commited.Sometimes i just cry,i give up on life.I feel like there's nothing more for me to do or say,to get forgivness.Something that makes me do more bad things i guess.Ive asked m self many times.Maybe i should tell someone bout this.Maybe itsabout time i got stoned till DEADTH! I Don't know ? can you guys tell me something to make me feel better, please go ahead. I neva had sex before i met my ex-husband,and i neva had sex with anyone else after that man i met. They are the only two relationships i eva had.am 19 and i feel like that my whole life is a disaster! Please don't curse me out or anything,i feel bad already! But try to tell me something that may help me find the right path.Make me feel better bout my self! thank you!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sunday, January 14, 2001 - 12:17 pm Asalaamu alaikum... Dear Sister, your message really moved me. All I can is don't despair. Allah is the most, compassionate moste merciful and as long you fulfill the conditions of Sincere Repentance, you will be fine insha Allah. On www.islam-qa.com, there is an excellent book by one of the scholars entitled, " I want to repent, But...". Please check it out. As long as you repent before the death-rattle appears in your throat (i.e., before death is imminent), and before the sun rises in the West [one of the major Signs of the Day of Judgement], tthen you will insha Allah be ok, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him said: "Whoever repents before the death rattle reaches his throat, Allaah will accept it from him" (reported by Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi, Saheeh al-Jaami’, 6132) I hope the following will ease your pain, insha Allah. From Abu Sa'eed al-Khudree (radiyallaahu 'anhu) who said that Allaah's Messenger said: The example of the believer with regards to eemaan is like the example of a horse with regards to its tethering stake; it roams around and then returns to its tethering stake, and the believer is negligent and then he turns to his eemaan. So feed the pious with your food and treat the believers well. Reported by Ahmad(3/38,55) Hadeeth qudsi: "O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and put your hope in Me, I will forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, if your sins were to reach the clouds of the sky, and you were to ask me for forgiveness, I will forgive you and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, if you were to come to Me with sins nearly the size of the earth, and you were to meet Me not associating anything with Me, then I would bring you forgiveness nearly the size of (the earth)." (Reported by al-Tirmidhi; Saheeh al-Jaami’, 4338). Here are a few duas you can recite. “Rabbi’ghfir wa’rham wa anta khayru’l-raahimeen (My Lord! Forgive and show mercy, for You are the Best of those who show mercy!)” [al-Mu’minoon 23:118– interpretation of the meaning]. “Rabbanaa ‘ghfar lanaa dhunoobanaa wa israafanaa fi amrinaa (Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and transgressions (in keeping our duties to You).” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:147 –interpretation of the meaning]. Shaddaad ibn Aws (may Allaah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)said: “The best prayer for seeking forgiveness is to say: ‘Allaahumma anta rabbi la ilaaha illa anta, Khalaqtani wa ana ‘abduka wa ana ‘ala ‘ahdika wa wa’dika ma astata’t. A’oodhu bika min sharri ma sana’tu, aboo’u laka bi ni’matika ‘alayya wa aboo’u laka bi dhanbi, faghfir li fa innahu laa yaghfiru’l-dhunoob illaa anta(O Allaah, You are my Lord. None has the right to be worshipped but You. You created me and I am Your slave, and I am faithful to my covenant and my promise (to You) as much as I can. I seek refuge with You from all the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You all the blessings You have bestowed upon me, and I confess to You all my sins. So I entreat You to forgive my sins, for nobody can forgive sins except You).”Whoever says this during the day, having faith in it and dies before the evening comes, will be among the people of Paradise, and whoever says it during the night, having faith in it, and dies before the morning comes, will be among the people of Paradise.” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 5831). Abu Moosa reported that the Prophet(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)used to recite the following du’aa’:“Allaahumma’ghfir li khatee’ati wa jahli wa israafi fi amri wa maa anta a’lam bihi minni. Allaahumma’ghfir li jiddi wa hazli wa khata’i wa ‘amdi wa kullu dhaalika ‘indi. Allaahumma’ghfir li maa qaddamtu wa maa ajjartu wa ma asrartu wa maa a’lamtu wa maa anta a’lam bihi minni. Anta’l-muqaddim wa anta’l-mu’akhkhir waanta ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer ( Allaah, forgive me for my sin. My ignorance and my transgression (in keeping my duty to You), and whatever You know about me better than I do. O Allaah, forgive me for sins committed in earnest and in jest, by mistake and deliberately, and I have done all of that. O Allaah, forgive me for what I have done in the past and what I will do in the future, what I have done in secret and what I have done openly, and whatever You know about me better than I do. You are the One Who raises and lowers people’s status, and You are Able to do all things).” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 5919, and Muslim, 4896. This version reported by Muslim). Ibn ‘Umar reported that the people counted for the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) when he recited one hundred times in one gathering: “Raabi’ghfir li wa tubb ‘alayya innaka anta’l-tawwaab ul-ghafoor (My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance, for You are the Acceptor or Repentance, the All-Forgiving).” (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 3356. He said, This is a ghareeb saheeh hasan hadeeth). I pray that Allah helps you realize his infinite mercy and forgiveness. Your Sister in Islam.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sunday, January 14, 2001 - 08:44 pm Sumaya There is a sin that will take you to Paradise, when it cause you to seek Allah and REPENT. There is a good deed that will take you to hell, when it makes you proud and look down upon sinners. How can that be , you may ask. Well There is no door to enter seeking Allah wider than the door of humility, broken heart, displeasure with your deeds and sorrow. This feeling in itself is a testament that you are at the doorstep of Allah SWT, and he loves you very much for that feeling. The sin you have done is not greater than Allah's love for you and forgiveness, If you REPENT. More than that, The sin you have committed can be transformed as a good deed in the day of judgement if you REPENT sicerely now. Imagine that sin being counted as a HAJ, yes it is possible. " ulaa'ika alladeena nubaddilu sayiaatihim xasanaat" Those (who repent) their sins will be transformed into good deeds" This is an incentive, take advantage while supplies last!!!!!! Sister you share a name with a great lady who was ironically killed in the path of Allah in gruesome way, She was the first martyr in Islam. She gave testimony of La ilaaha illa laahu with her blood. You can be in her footstep by REPENTING. Your next step is how to migrate from the EVIL way to ISLAM? That will be my next post when I hear from you.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sunday, January 14, 2001 - 10:22 pm Dear sister One of the Names of Allaah is al-Sitteer, meaning the One Who covers or conceals (the faults of His slaves), and He likes His slaves to conceal sins too. Allah says in the Quran: Say: "O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives ALL sins: for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. Sister, this verse gives Hope to all muslims! To lose Hope in Allah's Mercy is worse than sleeping around and other sins! No matter what we do Allah will forgive us if we repent. Indeed, Allaah says ) “Know they not that Allaah accepts repentance from His slaves…?” [al-Tawbah 9:104], We all know that Allah created us to worship Him alone. So I advice you and myself to pray for His forgiveness! The Prophet, Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said: "If you did not commit sins, Allaah would sweep you out of existence and replace you by another people who would commit sins, ask for Allaah's forgiveness and He would forgive them." (muslim) This does not mean that we sin continuously. No! It means that we are not perfect. The Prophet (PBUH) said, "One who repents from sin is like one without sin." not only this, Dear Sister just think about the words of Allaah “…except those who repent and believe, and do righteous deeds; for those, Allaah will change their sins into good deeds…” [al-Furqaan 25:70]. If you are sincere in your repentance Allah will change your fornication into chastity! and all your bad characteristics into good ones IS NOT ALLAH THE MOST FORGIVING, MOST MERCIFUL? yes without a doubt You may read the following du'as I got from Q&A page. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The best prayer for seeking forgiveness is to say: ‘Allaahumma anta rabbi la ilaaha illa anta, Khalaqtani wa ana ‘abduka wa ana ‘ala ‘ahdika wa wa’dika ma astata’t. A’oodhu bika min sharri ma sana’tu, aboo’u laka bi ni’matika ‘alayya wa aboo’u laka bi dhanbi, faghfir li fa innahu laa yaghfiru’l-dhunoob illaa anta (O Allaah, You are my Lord. Anta’l-muqaddim wa anta’l-mu’akhkhir wa anta ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer ( Allaah, forgive me for my sin. My ignorance and my transgression (in keeping my duty to You), and whatever You know about me better than I do. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Sunday, January 14, 2001 - 11:55 pm assalamu calaykum: My dear somali sister sumaya19: I have really been moved by your story. You are not alone, there are many somalis of both gender that have committed, what in islam is a sin. You have to know, that there is no one who is perfect... In retrospect we are all sinners. The magnitude of the sin varies though: Allah, the almighty is forgiving, mercifull.....and IT is mentioned the quran/hadith that nearly all sins (except blasphemy(equating allah with anything), caasi walid and murtid are forgiven as long as the sinner repents. In your case, you indulged in a sin which nearly all somalis are capable ie teenage/adolescent rebelion. Just admitting that u once committed such a sin, makes you a brave human being, capable of serving allah..... I am proud of you sis...and I pray for you..may allah wash away your sins, my sins and the sins of every muslim....because we are not perfect.....

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Friday, January 19, 2001 - 08:27 pm Dear Sister Sumayah I am happy for you that you need to hear more, I have tears in my eyes as I write this piece. I could'nt help it out of joy. There is no happiness greater than a muslim repenting to Allah. To advice you, I put myself in your shoes, and I walked a mile. It is a moving experience, it is a great feeling. Like coming back from the dead. The wheel of repentence is in motion, do not fall back while you have the momentum. Sister A great scholar of islam was a professional burglar in his prior lifestyle. One day he mounted a house to steal. There was a person reading Quraan in that house, The burglar, listened to the Quraan: " Isn't it time for the believers to soften their hearts for Allah's remembrance (Obedience) and the revelation of truth" The thief, responded " YES , INDEED OO ALLAH, IT IS TIME, YES IT IS TIME" The thief gave up his lifestyle of burglary, and went to the closest mosque where he began learning Quraan and hadeeth until he became one of the greatest scholars and an example of Piety. That scholar was called " Al Fudail bin Eyadh" The above story has a purpose: Your return journey to Allah SWT. Allah said " I am forgiver for whomsoever repents, believes, does good deeds and becomes straight" Now that you plan to Repent to Allah SWT. Follow these points: 1. Feel bad about what you have done ( fulfilled inshaallah) 2. Decide with strong will, not to do it again 3. Do good work from now onwards: This item has three parts: A. Leave the environment in which you have committed the sin. So it does not remind you the past and tempt you again. B. Find a community that lives a righteous lifestyle and move close to them. C. Seek knowledge that will get you away from evil and close to Allah. Sister, There is no pleasure equivalent to the feeling of loving Allah with all your heart, soul and body( in his service). Whenever a person indulges in carnal pleasures it is Satan trying to obstruct that person from the real pleasure that can only be experienced when we love Allah SWT. The one who created you, and is guiding you now The one who feeds you and quenches your thirst When you get sick, the one who cures you The one who will ultimately cause you to die, and later will bring you back alive And the one who you hope to forgive your sins when all humans are judged. Every tear you've shed, will be in your records in the day of judgement, that tear, may have a value much greater in the eye of allah than prayers of a respected person. Allah sees the inner self. We only see the outside. But Allah sees the inside of a person. And some people are gems inside. They are diamonds in the rough, they need polishing. Be good my dear sister. And please pray for me, as I am seeking Allah pleasure with my efforts, I am as helpless as you or worse if allah does not guide me. Your brother in Islam

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Wednesday, January 31, 2001 - 11:25 pm Asalaamu caleykum Sumaya I truely feel your pain and know where u caming from. But be greatful sis u realized your mistakes, at least u regread it not proud of it. Remember sis the onece who regread their mistakes are the once Allah is most likely to forgive them if the fellow the right path and never repeat the same mistake again. sis all i wanted to say my fellow brothers and sisters said it all. May Allah subxana watacalaa help ya and rotate your dark days to a better one and May Allah subxaana wataclaa forgive ya. sis like bro Nur said Allah subxaana wataclaa is raxiim and forgivable, all u need to do is ask him forgiveness and not to repeat your mistakes again. the only way u could achieve that is to be connected by our beautiful islam religion. Sis i will advise u to get muslim types especially the ones recorded in english. it will help you a lot and u will find alot of answeres from it. the second advise is talk to a good muslim sheikh who knows the islamic religion very well. And i wish u all the best sis and pray for u Allah to forgive ya insha Allah. Sis There was a muslim lady who lived our prophet mohamed time. She was a married lady she commited sin, she realized her mistake and regread it. she informed parophet Mohamed s.c.w, at that time she was pregnant, the prophet said came to when u have the baby and completed the breas feeding time. it took about 1 and half years to 2 years if my memory is corrected. Any way she was panished by islamic rule when she died the prophet ordered to be praied salatul jinaaza on her. one of the asxaab's said why ya rasuululah she is daalim cuz she commited a sin. The rasuul said she realized her mistakes and came forward, Allah will forgive her by caming forward and accepting to be panished. Sis what i'm trying to say is Allah subxana wataclaa is qafuurul raxiim don't ever get tied of his forgiveness. To: Nur masha Allah tabaraka Laah. Ilahay ajar ha kaasiiyo hana ku siyaadiyo (Amin). To: Waleed laa xawla walaa quwa ilaa bilaahi caliyul cadiim ya akhi muslim if u got a better thing to say go a head but plz do not came like that rubbish attitude to Islam forum section. people who are in-need are asking help the lasting they want is to assult them so please look back what u wrote and try not to understimilate ppl. Cuz we all are humans and humans aren't perfect they do commit mistakes, but the ones who admit their wrongness are the ones who are taking steps to eliminate their stupid behaviour, and have good islam life style Allah to forgive them. i'm sure u aren't perfect and if u were in her shoes u woudln't wanted someone to talk to ya like that. so stop offending your dear sister. Hadii aan ku gafay cafis & masaamax. Waa iga intaas Wacleykumu salaam.
