As a young Somali, I would like to get an accurate advice on how I will vote. Is it permissable in the Quran to vote as your leader a non-Muslim person? Is social security benefits Harraam?
Please if you are knowledgable in the above two questions, I would appreciate your advice, but, If you are not an Islamic educated person please keep your views to yourself.

Thank you
Jazaka-Allah-Qeeyrum.

Brother Ali,
Asalaamu-Alaykum, kadibna let me clearly tell you that voting for someone who is not a practicing Muslim is forbidden.

Secondly, the Social/security benefits are Harraam because of how it was raised by the government in the first place, but, if it is for survival, I think there maybe some exemption.

Sheikh Salad, how about using common sense?
Look, for example if 2 men are running for chairmanship of a school district and one man is gay and the other is straight. which is in your interst to be a chairman if your children attend a school in that district???

What about voting against funding for abortion?

Do you know many Muslims voted against Al-Gore because we didn't want a Jew to be a vice president and a step closer to the Us presidence. Sheikh Salad, if one vote will somehow influence the direction of a cause why not that vote. Simply it menas protecting your rights in a kufaar environment.
I don't beleive Allah will sent be to hell for voting again a gay. In my opionion, being apathetic when you have an opportunity to influence a decision is a worse crime.

You turn around and then say social security is okay? Why is one okay and the other not??????

Khatarta ugu daran ee muslimiinta soo waajahaysa waa inuu ruux iska fidyoodo waxyaalo isagoon u fiirsan. Xalaasha iyo Xaaramaynta shay waa arin khatar ah una baahan ka fiirsasho intuusan ruux ka jawaabin. Cali, walaalkiis, waxaan kugula talin lahaa inaad la sheekaysato culimada imaamada ka ah masaajidada magaaladiina ood arintan ka warsato. Haddii kale samee baadhitaan khuseeysa su'aashan oo gaadh go'aankaaga markaasi.

Sheikh Salaad, walaalkiis dib ugu laabo culimadu waxa ay hadalkan ka dhaheen, nalana wadaaag natiijada baadhitaankaaga. Mahadsanid.

Shaksiyan, waxaan ku raacsanahay Sara fikradeyda, laakiinsee badhitaanka (research) aan ku sameeyay su'aashaas wuxuu i tusiyay inay banaantahay ka qaybgalka codbixinita wadamada cusub een ku noolnahay xilligan. Kolay waa su'aal aan ka niqaashi karno, badhitaana ka sameen karno.

Assalaamu caleykum to all.

Brother Ali.

I went to this website which is a data base for questions and answers relating to islamic subjects/issues. I also like it because they seem to be authentic most of the time inshallah. It is the rule of islamic law that we verify our resources so that we know what we are using as religion. As far as I am concerned, this website is okey. That is of course subject to the verification of everyone. I personally check Towxid first then proceed to other things.

Here is what I saw:

Question:

Some Moslems in a non Islamic country are asking if it is OK to participate in the elections there and vote for non Moslem groups or parties. They claim that it would serve the Moslem community there if a certain group won the elections?

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

This is a matter concerning which rulings may differ according to different circumstances in different times and places. There is no absolute ruling that covers all situations, both real and
hypothetical.

In some cases it is wrong to vote, such as when the matter will have no effect on the Muslims, or
when the Muslims have no effect on the outcome of the vote. In this case voting or not voting is all the same. The same applies in cases where all the candidates are equally evil or where they all have the same attitude towards Muslims…

It may be the case that the interests of Islam require Muslims to vote so as to ward off the greater evil and to reduce harmful effects, such as where two candidates may be non-Muslims but one of them is less hostile towards Muslims than the other, and Muslims’ votes will have an impact on
the outcome of the election. In such cases there is nothing wrong with Muslims casting their votes in favour of the less evil candidate.

In any case, this is the matter of ijtihaad based on the principle of weighing up the pros and cons,
what is in the interests of Islam and what is detrimental. With regard to this matter, we have to refer to the people of knowledge who understand this principle. We should put the question to
them, explaining in detail the circumstances and laws in the country where the Muslim community is living, the state of the candidates, the importance of the vote, the likely benefits, and so on.

No one should imagine that anyone who says that it is OK to vote is thereby expressing approval or support for kufr. It is done in the interests of the Muslims, not out of love for kufr and its
people. The Muslims rejoiced when the Romans defeated the Persians, as did the Muslims in
Abyssinia (Ethiopia) when the Negus defeated those who had challenged his authority. This is well known from history. Whoever wants to be on the safe side and abstain from voting is allowed to do so. This response applies only to elections for influential positions. And Allaah knows best.

Islam Q&A (www.islam-qa.com)

PS: I am not a citizen and thus be able to vote. But if I were a citizen I am not sure I would vote for anybody. That is my personal decision and my personal decisions don't make things right or wrong in islam.

Salam All

Douhale: Praying to Allah(swt) five times a day is the second pillar of Islam. And i think most important. For those who don't pray and yet do everything else ie. attend lectures, organize islamic events etc. All these acts are worth less as u have not ACTED on the second Pillar of ISlam SALAAT.

And the punishment of not offering your prayers, shiver goes down my spine when i hear them.

The one who disdains the prayers will receive fifteen punishments from Allah:
*Six punishments in this lifetime
*Three while dying
*Three in the grave
*and Three on the Day of Judgement.
(if u want details of these punishments i'll provide it inshallah)

Salat is a form of worship which establishes the link between man and his Creator and Benefactor, Allah(swt).

Maybe you can go to a Islamic book store and find a book on Prayers and other subjects of Islam, these books are of great help. I really dont trust the internet anymore as we see people putting up bogus pages about Islam when half the stuff on it is incorrect.

Inshallah if you would like more information feel free to ask, i'll do my best to provide.

P.S: please excuse my post its all over the place theirs no train of thought what so ever.

If i have offended any1 please for give me and anything good i've said is from Allah(swt) and anything bad is from me.

Your sister in faith ServantOfAllah
SalamAll:)
