I think that its amazing how much hatred is expressed in the SomaliNet Forums. But I have an honest question: Why do ALL Somalis hate the Majerteen and Puntland? Please advice and correct me if this hypothesis is wrong.

Majerteen is one somali tribes who alwasy wanted to domianate and dictate others and all majerteens r comon in what thing, that is "QABILISM" thatis why other hate them.

This is boring subject so all of you stop this nonsense and find something else to write about.
Death to all those who want to divide the great people of Puntiland. It is not going to happen. Others have tried before you and fortunately they all failed badly. We're gonna coexist no matter what, because that is our interest and the interest of our children. Look what is happening in other places in Somalia and compere with our 2.5 years old semi independence. I know what I talking about, because I just got back from there, caviled people just like the rest of the first world. I traveled between Badhan and Bosaaso more than seven times in the middle of this year, and each time I was carrying more than $200.000 cash with no bodyguard or security. Try that in southern Somalia or even in Sakhraanland. YOU GIVE ME A PEACE, AND I WILL PROSPER. |

I do not think people hate majeerteen. As other people said they were dominated Somali politics first 9 years. they did not anything good to remember, except people had the freedom of speech.
siyad bare was worse anyway however mareexaan gave up the dream of leading Somali again and they know maybe it will not happen again. In 1989, a majeerteen women told me, the next president will be Omar maxamuud. I did know omar maxamuud that time and I asked her who they are. She became mad. So people talk about this kind of story but they forget the majeertten are good neighbors. they do not use violence first instead they rather negotiate, not always. Also like most Daarood they can forget things happened in the past. However I think the majeerteen will be the winners in future Somali politics if they play cool and not like the women I mentioned. |

To I love my people:
Brother stop whining, perhaps this their best way of saying we love you guys. No matter how many people hate Majerten they're still a formidable force that the rest of Somalia relies on Heavily. They are educated, smart, friendly, civilized and best of all good neighbors who respect themselves and their Somali brothers. Tell me one city in the rest Somalia that even comes close to the cities they predominantly inhabit in terms of peace and brotherhood. When their citizens were being maimed and massacred in Southern Somalia like Mogadishu they were busy welcoming all fleeing Somalis of any tripe with open arms. These people still peacefully and prosperously leave in Majeerteen cities like Bossaso. Best of all, in light of the horrible treatments that its citizens have received in the hands of their supposedly Somali brothers and sisters they (Majertens) have still kept their undivided loyalty for a great and united Somalia. The Majerten intellectuals, community leaders and politicians are determined more than ever in the process of rebuilding a stable and ever lasting central government for all Somalis. Just like I say to all my friends when they encounter these kinds of negativity against their people that I will ask you to stay calm and cool because cool heads always prevail. |

my hyphothesis: Majerteen are disliked in Somalia because we are of the Kingdom, controlled the government in the 1960s, established the most peaceful entity in all of somalia (puntland), and are the most generous people on the land.

As soon as berbera opened bosaso trafic decreased. maajerten is the somalis that abandoned the somali people in time of war against ethiopia 1977, Isaaq suffered but we did not betray our nation when the whole nation was in a war from northwest to south east, that is truly a shame for this musuqmasuq clan you truly behaved like naago!
You majertens are lucky that habar jeclo is muslims if we wanted you would not been on the somali map today, habar gidir was beating you but habar jeclo left you alone.
In other terms majerten are however good businessmen and shrewd politicians, they are dorood that ofcourse puts a limit on their brain capacity but they are among the more progressive layers of Somali society i would say.
