Somalia: Paper Reports Possible Accord Between Interim Government, Aydid

Text of report by Somali newspaper 'Xog-Ogaal' on 12th December

Reliable reports from highly-placed sources say senior figures close to the interim Somali president, Abdiqasim Salad Hasan, are holding intense mediation between President Hasan and Husayn [Muhammad] Aydid and his ally, Muhammad Qanyare.

No official agreement has been signed between the two sides up to now, but mediations are still in progress and there are high hopes of an agreement being reached, according to the reports.
