Jariirad baa qortey maqaalkaan:

Reliable sources from Mogadishu have confirmed to us that Abdiqasim Salad Hasan and Uthman Hasan Ali Ato, chairman of Somali National Alliance - United Somali Congress held a lengthy meeting for many hours. The two leaders held a joint meeting on Saturday night 16 December at a house near Hotel Shaamow, Mogadishu. The talks between the two leaders were brokered by prominent elders from the Habargidir clan.

Reports say Mr Ato and the mediating elders begun their talks at around 8.00 p.m., while Hasan joined them at figure illegible, until 3.a.m. The outcome of the meeting has not been disclosed to the public, but sources close to the two sides say the meeting ended in an atmosphere of understanding. Highly-placed sources confirmed that Abdiqasim accepted all the conditions put forward by Uthman Hasan Ali Ato. Further reports say another meeting between the two leaders was to have been held on Monday night 18 December.

Mogadishu faction leaders, chairman of Somali National Alliance Husayn Aydid, Uthman Hasan Ali Ato and Muhammad Qanyare Somali National Alliance senior official, have been holding joint meetings to work out joint strategies for setting up a new alliance. However, according to reliable reports, the faction leaders seem to have failed to reach any consensus and are apparently competing for a separate dialogue with the interim government, especially after Dr Husayn Haji Bod signed a truce with the government.

According to well-placed political analysts, the faction leaders are likely to surrender themselves to the Arta Djibouti set up faction presumably current interim government, which is currently has the upper hand in Mogadishu. The exception remains Muse Sudi Yalahow who is not prepared to hold any dialogue with the interim government.
