– A meeting held at Hotel Ramadan in Mogadishu by Council of Ministers fully discussed on agendas including the conference of the Southern Faction Leaders currently going on in Addis Ababa under the auspices of the Ethiopian Government and the printing of counterfeited money.

Speaking at the occasion, The Prime Minister of Somalia, Dr. Ali Khalif Galeyr, asserted that the Transitional Government wrote to the Indonesian Government to stop the printing of the counterfeited Somali shillings allegedly printed by Indonesian companies under the authorization and the demand of the Puntland Leader, Abdulahi Yusuf.

The Premier says that “he has in his possession the address of the company that prints the forged money and a letter written by Abdullahi Yusuf to that company asking it for the printing of Somali shillings and the signature of so called his central bank president.”

He said, “It is a surprise, that Abdulahi Yusuf accuses the Interim Government that it is behind the counterfeited money while it is a clear evidence that Abdulahi Yusuf is the one who wrote to the Indonesian company and asked for the printing of this money.” (HornAfrik).
