The sudden and unfortunate death of President A. A. Sharmarke in 1969 was a very shocking news to all Somalis wherever they were, but what was more shocking, the Hawiyas' refusal of him to be buried in Mogadishu.
According to my father, who was at the time a very young civil servant from North Western Somalia, Hawiya communities staged violent demonstrations around the died president's grave, and they were carrying slogans that said "Take the died Darood man back to where he came from."
Ladies and gentlemen, the fact that President Sharmarke was indeed a decent man, the legally elected president of our country, and a good Muslim couldn't safe his lifeless body from Hawiyas' deep and profound dislike of all Daroods. Furthermore, many Somalis considered Pre. Sharmarke as one of them(hawiyas) since he grew up among them and spent all of his life in Mogadishu.
This was not isolated incident, it was well planed, and it shows that non Hawiyas, particularly Daroods can never be safe in Mogadishu. It also shows that any Mogadishu based government is a CLEAR THEREAT to our existence.
When my father told me what happened in 1969, the question that immediately came into my mind was would the men, such as Dr. Galaydh, Abshir and Kink-Kong expect to be treated in Mogadishu any better than the dead body of President A. Sharmarke?.
This is a fact finding secession, and it is not intended to encourage or provoke any hostility against any one It's just part of my duties as a Darood citizen to warn my people from the imminent danger of Arta "Gov". |

Brother, STOP STARTING FIRE AMONG SOMALIS. Darood citizen? Is there such a thing? No, there no such a thing called Darood citizen. We are all Somalis, and citizens of the so called Somalia.
