Warlords and other Somalis opposed to the new transitional government in Mogadishu called today for national reconciliation conference to be held with the rigeme so as to set up a "legitimate" administration.

The appeal followed the formation in Ethiopian capital of a common opposition front called the Somali Reconciliation and Restoration Council and came on the same day that a Mogadishu hotel used by Prime Minister Ali Khalif came under fire in un attack that killed three people. Luckly, he (the Prime Minister) was out to "Afgoye".

Headed initialy by warlord Husein Aideed, the restoration council will "the nation towrdsan all-inclusivereconciliation conference and the stablishmentof a legitimatetransitional represetative government of national unity".

Installed last year after a decade of anrchey in Somalia and months of talks in Arta, Djabouti, the TG enjoys the bucking of the international community but, in the absence of support from most warlords, has failed to exert its contral for beyond the capital Mogadishu.
