SOMALI | Monday, October 09, 2000 - 06:56 am First of all, I would like to congratulate the new PM of Somalia, Mr. Ali Q. Galaydh. Second, I would like to congratulate all the hard working people that made possible for us to have parliament, President, PM and soon the completion of the process. Of course, we thank God that gave us life and the opportunity to be part of rebuilding Somalia. I hope we can look forward and put aside our hard feelings towards each other and take fresh look at future of Somalia as a whole. There is going to be many roadblocks ahead of us. The question is “Can we over come the expected and the unexpected road-blocks? We can if we honestly put the interest of rebuilding Somalia in front of our own one. That objective is the ONLY objective, which will unite us and put us out of our current sad stage and misery. All we ask is the different competing groups to work together even though some times some of us will get the urge to just walk away and have nothing to do with the rebuilding of Somalia. I have been there but the consequences are much worse than trying to make a few compromises. Do not let a few bad Somalis discourage you by saying, “Why are you supporting the new government when your uncle or brother or cousin, etc did not get any position”. There are only 25 ministers, 1 Pres, 1 PM and 2 Vice PM position therefore it is not logical every one to become a minister or “Karani”. PLEASE, LETS GIVE PEACE A CHANCE. If the President screws up, we will deal case by case and we will take back our support if it warrants. But for now, please lets put our differences aside and work hard in rebuilding Somalia. Thanks for reading. |
Olow | Monday, October 09, 2000 - 07:42 am Somali My dear brother I agree to you everything you have said in your letter and it sounds that you are a patriot die hard Somali who is fed up with the misery and the current situation in our home land. The fact is we all need a government and system in our country, so to achieve that we have to give a chance every attempts towards peace in Somalia. We need to think ahead and se the reality that the warlords are not coming up with solutions but further bloodshed and distractions. So please let us give the new government a chance since we have got nothing to loose |
SOMALI | Monday, October 09, 2000 - 08:06 am To: Olow, I agree my brother. I have seen both sides of the coin. It does not last long to be in power if you are fair to everyone. Sooner or later you will be kicked out. Therefore, there is no better solution but to live with each other in a peaceful and brotherly manner. I learned the hard way. I have been on the top of the ladder and I have been on the bottom of the ladder. It is better to eat diet balance in order to have peace that lasts for ever. |
