Political Analyst | Saturday, October 14, 2000 - 12:13 pm As the news from Mogadishu highlights, Mogadishu gangs AKA Somali warlords are preparing themselves to battle and oust the new interim government before it stands on its feet. Like wise, after realizing the gangs are arming them selves to the teeth, they quickly packed their bags and headed for Mogadishu. The new administration is in the hands of a new force dominated by Islamic militias, The president's immediate clan, the Ceyr and Mogadishu business elite. It iis also rumored that most Abgal people will defend this new government since the interim parliament is located in Mogadishu's north side and Abgaal is the main host tribe. It is a Somali tradition to take care of guests even if the guest is your arch enemy. Now, the question is "Will this infant reach maturity or will it be crushed by the predators, AKA warlords. Let's see and wait. The president made a very brave move when he entered Mogadishu with his parliamentarians. Will they succeed? will the Ceyr tribe who's been known for terrorizing all southern Somalia with deadly weapons and Abgal, the rapist salvage and safeguard the new government. Will the Islamic militias who cut hands of petty thiefs work with the government even if it the government doesn't want to become hardline religous regime. All these questions will be answered by the events that are unfolding in Mogadishu these days. If this child reaches maturity and conquer Mogadishu, the next frontier will be Baydabo, Kismayo and all the south. By that time, Mr. Abdulahi Yusuf of Puntland will be dead by natural causes and Igal will face a stiff chalange from the honorable parliamentarians from Somaliland such as Buubaaye, Kaluun, Galaeyr and Tuur. The people of the Punt will welcome the the government without a single shot. La soco arbacada danbe. |
Anonymous | Saturday, October 14, 2000 - 02:28 pm Tuur, Bubaa, Kaluun, Iidagale Suldaan and others have resolved to go back to Somaliland fold after witnessing the injustices of the faqash regime perpetuated by Djibouti party (Arta conference). Their spokesman, Aidid Ilkahanaf stated that they will soon enter talks with the Egal administration and close ranks with Somaliland people. Asked if he regrets of attending Arta conference and sitting side by side with the war criminals( morgan,Gaanni etc) he said, we should better commit mass suicide than living with that fact.
