Thank for the important question.

Each country is involved in order to advance their interests.

Ethiopia is involved for this reasons:
1. Security reasons--rebels against them are said to be attacking them from Somalia. So they are claiming to be after those rebels. This can be disputed because what are they doing in northern, eastern and central Somalia where no rebels against them are said to be based.
2. To influence Somalia--since both countries have long history of conflict between them, it will be in the best interest of Ethiopia to check who will be in power in Somalia. They don't like to see any government that will advance greater Somalia in power.
3. To accomplish the dream of Menelik--Menelik dreamed to expand his territory to the Indian Ocean. So maybe this is the started of Ethiopian occupation of Somali republic.

And that of Eritrea:
1. To start another front for Ethiopia--in order to effect the balance of power in the boarder war between those two countries.


For whatever reason they don't have any right to be there. When Meles Zanawi and Isias Afawerkia where rebels it was Somalia that took care of them and supported them. They did use our passports. Is this what they are giving us for thank you?.

Ethiopia and Eritrea get out of Somali's affairs.
