Hello all,
I am a yardie(jamaican).A brief question-why do so many of you all seem to hate or non like jamaicans.Exactly what have we done to deserve such treatment?.It's funny because in everyday life,somalis don't act this way.Most of the contact that I have had with somalis has been positive.Could this"jamaicans aren't any good"mentality be something that's just talked about at home or in privacy?

After the smoke settles on this issue,I think that we seem to be missing something with this jamaican/s contraversy.
I think most of bickering comes from the menfolk and in a way it has something to do with a wee-bit of an inferiority complex.There is something in the male mind that triggers anger and outrage,when one encounters women(belonging to his race/ethnicity)that are with men of another race.Some sort of tribal,ancient,chemical-type reaction occurs,that's often quite hostile.Like the"kill jareers"anon guy,sheeesh!
Another issue that I would like to touch on is"why DO a few somali women date jamiacans?".To begin with somali men are some of the most facially attractive men out there,but are lacking elsewhere(chest,butt,legs,arms etc..)Most somali males could be classified as ECTOMORPHS(in layman's terms-that means men with small,thin frames,with low(over-all)body fat and muscle.
Now, although somali men may indeed be more facially attractive(in the classic sense) than jamaican men,the jamaican and other black men of west african decent win the"body contest"hands down!How often do you see somali men that look like some of the 6 ft4, black hunk nba stars with chiseled chests,muscular arms,six packs etc...?Hardly ever.In addition to that(let's face it)jamaican men have a certain bodily-rythym and smooth way of carrying themselves,that's seldom seen in somali men(well,at least when they aren't immitating jamaicans).Their music is well-known all over africa,so therefore most people are familiar with various facets of their culture.For real!how many somalis or ethiopians don't know bob marley?
In short JAMAICAN MEN ARE SEXY & COOL!Of course there are going to be women that find themselves attracted to them.In addition-some african women may find that whithin the jamaican culture,men tend to give women more freedom.

In my preliminary assessment I concluded all the women who are backing jamacians and insulting Their fellow brothers to be the ones that have lost their virginity to these ugly creatures. Lets get something straight, the only reason Somali men or women might have a slim frame is because of our long civil war. When was the last time you heard of starvation in Jamaica? Moreover, the lucky Somali people that have made it to North America or Europe did not find it necassary to lift weights, but make some money to survive. In addition, I do not have a problem with a Jamaican man, or any other black going out with a Somali woman. As long as they are not going out with a women from my family. I truly believe this is not a racist remark, the only reason I say this, is because your are no longer just Somali, but also a Jamaican or whatever other black you mix with. Your children will take their names, their religion, and so on. There for I do not, want any of the problems interracial or intercultural marriages bring, to come to my family. Oh and I heard you talking about how reggae is very popular. I will not disagree with the fact reggae is popular, in fact I myself am a big reggae fan. However, let me explain why reggae is so popular. Ok,let's be fair here:jamaica is a country of 2 million,with many citizens residing outside the country.They have never had a civil war,little or no starvation,they have been a functioning democracy for about 40 years.Somalia:has been plagued by civil strife for 100 years(tribal warfare).During the most recent bout of conflict thosuands of somali men were killed(by fellow somalis).Thousands of somali women were raped,and hundreds upon hundreds of somali children were killed.
Come one now folks,the carribean is a much happier place than most countries in africa.
In light of the above someone please explain to me how one could possibly say that the average somali man is less corrupt than the average jamaican man? |

Look people, I will not be ignorant and say all Jamaican people do not have brains. Cause believe me I have seen a lot of smart Jamaican people, but other then use sharing the same skin colour, we have nothing else in common. They came here, for the most part as slaves, we came as refugees. They came from some where in West Africa; we come from East Africa. Therefore, I do not know why we are still talking about them. My whole view on Jamaican or any other race white, yellow, or brown is they are okay with me. As long as they are not a part of my family. Mr. Borama, and me see $hit the same way I guess; cause once you marry out side your own race. Oh you know $hit is bound to get F U C K E D up. You loss everything practically, from your culture, your family name, all the way to what religion your kids will worship. Now that two different cultures are involved in the up bringing of a child, you must go 50/50. However, that is not always the case, cause the kids get the males last name, the mostly get the religious point of view from their father. So once you go looking somewhere else for love, you end up having lost children. Oh and I forgot to mention, they must try to learn two languages, and two different cultures. What if the child decides that one of the cultures is not something they want to learn about, and decided to stick with one, and ignore the other half of them. Going out with someone of a different race is somewhat okay, but when it comes to marriage, I will 99.9% of the time search for a Somali female to settle down with. Somali nationalism, racism, whatever you want to call it, that is how I feel. Oh and one more thing, in America today white people, African Americans, Spanish, they are all complaining just now, about how they are all losing their treasured cultures to interracial marriages. Many people are just now realizing the negative side to interracial or intercultural marriages. Look I don't care if you do not believe me, but the main reason Jamaicans do not get along with us, is we are taking over former Jamaican territory in cities like Toronto. For example Jamestown in Martingrove, three years ago that place was all Jamaican, but now it is like 80% Somali, 20 % Jamaican. In addition, Jane & Finch, about a year or two ago was all-Jamaican, but now mostly Somali, along with people from other Caribbean countries. The main reason why the government, takes homes from Jamaican people and gives them to Somali people instead, is because when Jamaican people lived there it was full of drug dealers and gang members. However, since Somalis have took over those areas, the areas have become a little safer, even though there are still the occasional gang problems, and so on, it is not as bad as when the Jamaican people lived there. So really you could go out, and support Jamaicans peoples rights however long you want. Somehow convincing yourself that Somali people are worst then them. Nevertheless, the truth of the matter is when it comes to giving a job to a Jamaican or Somali, or a place to live 95% of the time the Somali will get it. These people have lived in North America longer then Somali people, but have been the least productive people from the Caribbean, or anywhere else. Somali people on the other hand have been praised be government officials in Canada, they have said that Somali people are the fast growing community in the working sector. Moreover, almost everyday I would see articles, about Somali restaurants in Edmonton, Toronto, and other Somali businesses. So really you could keep cheering and supporting people that are not even your own people, but sooner or later you will have to accept that Somali people are the only people that will ever treat you right. Look I have never seen Somali, and when I was younger, I used to get mad when anyone said I was from Somalia, or told me to speak Somali. However, through certain experiences in life, I have learned to really love all Somali people as my brothers and sisters. |

I'm jamaican and someone had informed about this website.
Let me just say that it sickens me to see how black people tear each other down like this. This is exactly why the black race, on a whole, will never get anywhere. This is what the white man loves to see- to see us war among ourselves. When we are divided it's easier for them to rule us.
About the garbage I've been hearing about all Jamaicans being gun weilding, drug deals. That is such a load of balony. Only a small percentage of the population engages in criminal activity. The majority of Jamaicans are proud hard working people. Of course, many of you wouldn't see that because you are all boldface racists.
I find it very amusing that people such as yourselves would look down on Jamaicans, when most people in Jamaica are living far better lives than most of you were living when you were in Somalia.
There are many other countries that hate Jamaicans. It's no big deal to us. It's just pure jealously. Jamaica is the most represented Carribean island and probably the most visible black nation on the globe. Here in the states, everyone from the Carribean, whether Haitian, St Lucian, Guyanese, Trinidadian are classed as Jamaicans. A white person could hear someone speaking in a thick St Lucian accent and say that that person is Jamaican. That's why you find that many other blacks, particularly Haitians, try to act Jamaican. Imitation is the greatest kind of flattery there is. Wouldn't you say? Posting topics like these is also a form of flattery.
Haitians also hate Jamaicans for the reason that Haitian women love to date Jamaican men. There's just something about us. It's funny that the Haitians, on a whole, don't like Jamaicans, but they try so hard to be Jamaican. Why? It's f*cking pathetic.
I should not be surprised by such wholesale stereotyping of my people though. Africans, on a whole, are racist towards other blacks. Particularly blacks of Carribean and Afro American descent. I don't know where this racism stems from, but it's something that has been present for a long while. I find this very disturbing. I long for the day when all black people could rise in unity and reclaim what was stolen away from us by our white slave masters from Europe.
Some of you people here are very gullible. Everything you hear about Jamaicans is what the media tells you. It's the same thing in England. Every f**king thing that happen they call yardie name! And most of the times, it's not even yardies that are going around doing the stuff they proclaim they're doing.
