Contrary to common believe, Education is not important. Unless you fancy having some pieces of paper called certifcates and degree, I wouldnt advice you to waste your days in class. In considering whether education is important, it is important to look at how many hours are wasted in the classroom. For example, in a class of 30 students, each attending approximately 35 hours each week they would have together wasted 54600 hours in a year, That is thirty four thousand six hundred hours. On the other hand cansider that each one of the was earning $8 each they could easily make $434400(Four Hundred and thirty four thousand and four hundred dollars).Here we are only talking about 30 students, can you imagine how many students are there in the whole world. You got to school early in the morning and come back tired just because of education? At the end of the day were you to look at what you have been taught and its relevance to your dream career, then you would have tought twice before you ever picked you books to that wasteful journey to school the next morning. Not forget the amount of resources wasted in schools. Boy if those resources were used to feed the poor, then this world would never see anyone starving because of hunger.
A lost opportunity that can never be recovered is what it is being educated. Havent you seen the billionaires who have never been in a class. Did you know that Bill Gates left University because he realised that it was a waste of time? Ask those relatives of mine who live in comfort to see if they ever stepped inside a class. The only difference is that I can calculate using a pen and a paper or a calculator while they can do the same count just by closing one eye and a little bit thinking deeper or by an instant dancing of the fingers. Those not educated would be more superior in any thought processes and the logic they possess while on the other hand I would have to start to think about what Sir Isaac Newton said about A mango falling from a tree to explain gravitational force.
I wish I never stepped inside of a class. By now I would be a millionaire. My mind wouldnt be having all these theories. Seriously since when did an atom, a molecule, a chromosome, a simultemous equation, a cosine a sine or a tangent, a discount factor, vaporisation point or evaporation point, maslow theory, maxist theory, keynesian theory or a monitarist theory, hyper text mark-up language or a dhtml, transistor or diode, green house effect, ozone layer, become relevant in anytime in your life time?
Damn i wish i never been to school. Surely I could drive my camels to the next few miles in the desert in search of water successfully. Milk them and have the freshest glass of milk to drink. Or sold one of my camels and start a busines. Have you ever seen a person who you can only attribute his wealth to the education he acquired in school. |

Education is important simply so that a person can brainstorm and think. Education is not only about getting a job. There's more to it.
Imagine that no one was educated. Then we humans would be nothing better than animals and would have a corrupted society. Simply put, we wouldn't get anywhere without education. |

The prophet (msaw) said go even to CHINA if you have to receive an education. That's how important HE considered the value of education.
SANIA you said $8 an hr is enough than to receive an education. Lets do some math. Assume you make that $8 an hr and work 40 hrs a week. Eventually you will get married, have kids, pay rent, expenses, etc. Do you think you can support a family with that kind of income? I don't think so.
Sania the world you live in is made up of educated people. This computer is made up of physics and very complicated math, so, is the bridge you walk on, the house you live in, the food you eat. Unless you live in a small village in Somalia, education is very important. The Phophet (msaw) and Allah (swa) commanded us to get educated. Somalia is 200 yrs behind cause they don't have educated economist,physicist,astronomers,an educated labour force and that's why they don't have an economy. You can't expect a country to prosper without educated ppl especially in the 21th century. Why do you think the Jews and the white man basically run the whole world, it's because they're educated enough to manipulate the economy and minds of the people, and that's why they are the only ones who are prospering right now. So, pls sista liberate your mind and open your eyes. Don't give up.
And by the way, our school has 54,000 students and there are only 35 Somali students in the entire school. Go figure, no wonder we're working at warehouses making $8 an hr and supporting a family of 5,6,,7 etc.

a thought .........Reading your Pesimistic views,i can understand why education would trigger your best negative side of yourself.Obviously commitment and Lazyiness is a huge factor in your life and so,to justify your weakness you reason to say there is no importance in having education,judging from your dislike for the certification degree which one only gets after hard work and dedication.A thought........Get over yourself before you try to discourage others with your Hopeless views.....But ..then again..this is ...'Just a thought'............. |

Who said when you work and start from $8 an hour you will keep on the same rate huh? Even the uneducated would know that there is something called promotion due to had work and experience. Did you know that someone who is not educated is more employable than someone with an inflated ego due to a degree? How many ppl who have never been to school who can make ends meet and bring their children through the best of lives? UNCOUNTABLE. You really do not need to exagarate the importance of these computers. Can you see how unimportant this computer is right now.It is wasting my time I should be earning some bucks. This computer isnt going to make me a man less or a man more! You still believe in the 21st centuary myth? Man those are just counts, numbers that count day and night. Nothing more to it. A country doesnt prosper without education? Man visit those Arab sheikhdoms and then we can discuss more.

Thanks Anisa, my life for the passed four years was a time ill spent according to you. University or any form of higher education is a way to achieve a thinking pattern. For sure I haven't memorized by biology texts and at times when I was sick of studying, I was actually gaining knoweldge. The more you acquire knowledge, the more you find yourself ignorant of many things. Four years of University is a good way of learning to interact with peers and develop great communication skills. It's a place to find yourself and analyze your likes and dislikes. So although I couldn't regurgitate any of my Professor's lectures, I cold tell you that the time I've spent with friends, and the cramming and late night epiphanies I have come to is absolutely priceless.
Some people like to ostracize others because they have not attained a basic degree, but obviously these people are self proclaimed aristocrats. I say this because being in the company of a few Somalian girls and guys one day who all attended university, I was shocked and alarmed to find that I have never met more ingrates in my life or a group so ill mannered. First of all conversing in a language which they could not fully communicate and talking about theories and topics guaranteed to bore the youthful minded. So in truth it shouldn't matter socially what type of degree you have but in our ill-fated society in which we are bound to the ties of class and distinction, a degree is an asset. But there is always an exception to the rule, there are those who can surpass this glass ceiling and gain entrance into the world of the learned. |
