I consider myself a moderate in the political arena. I think government needs to be accessible to the people and that people have to educate themselves on the issues and should express their voice.
For a country our size a little organization goes along way. The present Manager has done a good job putting together a team, but we still have no Financial Policy manual to rely on and basic organizational documents are absolutely crucial. Council members come and go and organizational continuity needs to exist.
Our schools and medical Departments have seen a re-birth in the past year or so, and participation has increased at the groundlevel. The house are being rented more often, and new constructions are being offered. There programs such as After-school programs which are of little cost to the city, but we reap huge benefits when we invest time in our children.
We need to encourage participation in our small city so the same two dozen names don't appear on every committee or volunteer list. An annual budget review committee would be great, community attendance at school Commission meetings would be fantastic. Our Chamber of Commerce would love more participation.
I think we can achieve these things as well as do the more behind the scenes things such as infrastructure repair.
Somaliland is on it's way to being a home, please do what ever you can to assist in it's growth..

LooooL Basra, you said it all sister as I was confused and clueless on what the hell the Shaqlan girl is talking about. And who is the manager. I would think she is refering to Cigaal who is, in the opinion of the true Somalis, is a manager of province. She started her topic by mentioning that she is moderate in political discussions and activities, but she already told us who she is and what she believes, she aint •••• but IIDOOR DABA CAYUUN. |

this is called mistaken identity.
Shaqlan was chewing kat all night long. It was in the early morning when she intended to post an article to somalilandnet.
However,As soon as logged on her old computer hooked up that cheap modem shaqlan landed on a wrong Net--somalinet.
To err, we are all human being. Let's forget the whole damn thing and forget shaqlan's hnagoever"qaadiradii jaadka". Shall we?.

LET US IGNORE(XAASIDIINTA) AND TALK ABOUT WHAT WE CAN DO FOR SOMALILAND POLITICALLY. ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS THAT NEED TO BE REFORMED IS OUR JUDICIAL SYSTEM. I AM A LAW GRADUATE(LLB HONOURS) AND WILLING TO CONTRIBUTE TO THAT. WE ARE SMALL COUNTRY AND ALL WE NEED IS FOR PROVINCIAL CIVIL COURTS, FOUR PROVINCIAL CRIMINAL COURTS, A HIGH COURT BASED IN THE CAPITAL AND COURT OF APPEAL BASED IN ANOTHER CITY. I AM GOING TO SOMALILAND IN THE SUMMER(AFTER LONG ABSENCE) AND AM GOING TO MAKE ARESEARCH ON THEBEST WAYS TO IMPLEMENT MY PROPOSALS. JUDGES FOR HIGH AND APPEALS COURT MUST BE ADUCATED, IMPARTIAL AND FAMILY MAN. THIS SYSTEM WILL BE HEAVILY BASED ON SHARI'A. BUT IMPARTIAL. As a young politics undergraduate, i am well impressed with how you express your view in relation to the business of nation building. The Most striking thing about your comment is you stress the need of active involvement {by the ppl}, and for once not rely on the usual short sighted ideological standpoint. Some one who tackles problems like u do is way ahead of your time.
