why do we lately believe only educated person will only succesed in life. dont you think it depends the person how clever and smart he\she might be. check this: Bill gates, john major, Ronald reagan,Stalin, hitler, churchill and many other ones never got university degree and we can see how they...............tell me what you think or its women who like educated ones to move with? |

I'm educated woman and I do very well for myself. I believe education as being the great equalizer. Being foriegn/Black in the US is a very difficult thing, you have to be 5 times as good as your white counterpart to be considered for the same job.
Also the people you gave as examples are very intelligent people and higher education could add anything to their lives.
As a single woman, I like smart men, the higher educated the better.

NinSomali, one can survive without an education, it is just that education (both academic and vocational training) makes live in the West easier. So it is an individual choice what kind of life you want to have. |

Hello somali Sisters and Bros!!!
Ninsomali, Indeed an uneducated person can survive in society; however, you should also realize that education can lead you to places higher than you can imagine in this society.
In other words a piece of paper that has been given to you by some institution, can't always determine your brain size or your knowledge, but it can guarantee you a better life style, and a better "PAYMENT".
Furthermore, all those names that u just mentioned as an example, majority of them have one thing in common, which is that their skin color gives them more priviledges than the average unedcated black person in this western society. In the words of SOMALISIS, "you have to be 5 times as good as your white counterpart to be considered for the same job."
In conclusion, we are not prejudging against our uneducated somali brothers when we say EDUCATION MAKES THE MAN.

Masha,all it has make me happy when I saw a somali sis who r well educated Cuz believe me we need it all. All the succeed sis br who want go on the top.and well what can I say those who believe we can succeed whit out edacation...I will say to them good luck but I wonder how you cope guys. |

i agree with the sisters who said education is the only measure in one's success, brother nin somali compare the educated and the un-educated in our society then you will the difference. besides that to educate your self is even (waajib in our religion) allah said(MIYEY SIMANYIHIIN KUWA CILMIGA LEH IYO KUWA AAN CILMIGA LAHAYN), and especially in our society, education, education, education, is the right word as i think.

To all....Despite of the successful people whom you have mentioned, education is a must and considered to be Jihad as well. Thought, I disagree on the fact that Bill Gate for example became so successful man due to his skin color. We often try to hide our failure on useless issue, if what you said is true, why then YOU, YOU, YOU, and MYSELF didn’t figure out DOS & WINDOWS before he did. This man worked so hard to get us where we are today, so being white on what he has accomplish is baseless. With regard to other names, I’m sure that they didn’t have their hand crossed doing absolutely nothing, they must have done something to get to their ultimate destination. In other word, they worked their ass off. However, I do agree that we have to be 5 times as good as your white counterpart to be considered for the same job. Lastly, it is a MUST to know, understand, and practice your own religion as well OTHERWISE, you will be considered as an IGNORANT no matter how high your education is. |
