The Jabuuti conference is finally finished and has proclaimed Somalia open for business once again. A tribal council has been established to act as a sort of a parliament.

Question is: Whither Somalia?

I believe the Carta conference will be used by Somalia's most powerful neighbour to destabilize the only functioning adminstrations in Somalia namely Somaliland and Puntland, using as a pretext the failure of the leadership of these respective areas to implement the resolutions of the UN-sponsored Carta conference.

An Ethiopian intervention, far from being seen as an act of agression on sovereign and duly constituted adminstrations will instead have the blessing and support of the clueless UN. Thus will Ethiopia secure two of its strategic objectives:

1) Eliminate Somalia as a future threat by rendering her an enfeebled, dismembered occupied state.

2) Relieve landlocked Ethiopia's reliance on hostile Eritrea and tiny Jabuuti for access to the sea.

Take heed Cigaal and Cabdillaahi Yuusuf....
