     | Monday, March 26, 2001 - 04:35 am Dear Brothers, I have seen more and more brothers who choose not to have Somali wives or girlfriends. Our society seems to malign us. We are subject to insults and name calling. Why does our personal choice of whom we want to share our lives have to be an issue for the Somali community to talk about ? I am engaged to a Korean woman whom I have been dating for the past 4 years. She is a sweet woman whom I deeply love. She is love with Somali culture and its people. Apparently she does not know that Somali people don't like mixed relationships. I have kept that fact from her and only introduce her to family members and friends who are open minded. I know that there are a lot of brothers like me out there. So please drop a line. Abdi.

| | Monday, March 26, 2001 - 05:30 am Dear brothers Usama and Abdi Thank god am not alone in this,I have recently begin to date a beautiful young white woman she adores me and our relationship is OK,I always wanted to date and marry a Somali sister it was my dream since childhood,but unfortunately dreams don't always come true,some of my friends are married to or dating ajnabi women and they seem pretty happier than the others who are married to somali ladies? they tend to be leading an unhappy marriage life due to the lack of communication in the house the wives harsh attitudes towards their husbands,Oneday I was in my friends house when his beloved wife decided to kick him out to the curb,I tried to mediate between them but it didnt work that woman used every possible insultive word you can think of,it was then when I had a good rethinking about marring a somali woman,Anyway I gave up and started to date ajnabi women and I must admit the results were quiet not what I have been expecting these women seemed to be easy going.I'm currently dating this wonderful girl who works as a state legislator she earns five figures,owns her own house,loves me for who I'm not what I have,she listens to me,I think its a misconception that we have about white women when we label them as feminists or anti-men its not true, this young lady is obedient,down to earth,am teaching her about Islam and she seems very interested she introduced me to her whole family,even though she is not Somali but I think I have just found the love of my life sweet "Amber'.

| | Monday, March 26, 2001 - 02:46 pm Abdi, you r right.we girls have same problems with somali brothers too. i kept on dating somali bros but never found anyone who i really like.finally i decided to give a try to foriegner men.guess what,it was heaven even though i never thought ending with foriegner before but now i know how wrong i was. my man is white,he is the best.he is everything i ever dreamed of.he is always there for me,understanding,loving and caring and never lies opposite of somali men.he is professional and encourages me always to persue my career which i never found any somali guy,they were discouraging. i just cant imagine how lucky i am now.so brothers marry whoever your heart desires,so the girls.may be this is best solutions for somalis who dont get along.
