     | Wednesday, January 24, 2001 - 10:35 am This is for the Somali's in the city of London UK. Why is it that so many of you dont study, when education is free. Why so many of these people glamourise violence, and the violence between Somali's. How come most of these people like to think of themselves as Gangsters, and to represent areas they owe nothing to,and where many of them where not even born? How come everyone of these people lead sad lives, many are in relationships with people but in the end marry strangers, from their clans. Why you cant trust the girls in London? They all act like hoes, and have no self respect. So i have wondered is it this city, o is it that these are the worst, Somali people in the world. They are Jobles, arrogant, ignorant and have no class, the scum of society. I would like to add, that there are many who try to work, hard and live decent lives. The minority gheto rats have some how given us a bad name.

I think you talked about the downside and the setback on Somali peaople in London and in the UK as a whole...but I think as you said..that there are decent and dignified ones out there (Minority ofcourse)...and doesn't deserve to be branded as useless, evil, and immoral. One thing that concerns us all is...is there a way we can help them and maybe make a change?...and the answer is YES.. One person/brother/sister that you help will make a lot of difference to many people around him/her... If you see a somali person in the street that you think his/her behaviour is a disgrace to their community, and to the socity as a whole..you try to talk them out of it and discourage them about what they doing and not point out their foul-doing... Bro..I am not accusing you of anything but saying this just as a reminder...and what you said above is something that we see each day in everywhere. May Allah have Mercy on us all and guide us to the right path.

You can't be possibly saying that we are the worst ethnic group in the U.K .. Please remember that there are the good and the bad in every race, at any time in any place.. That is a fact that we must accept.. Could you also stop bad mouthing the sisters please... some of us still have our self respect.. and just because you only hang with the hoes doesn't mean to say that all girls must be hoes. | | Friday, January 26, 2001 - 12:18 pm Salama Calaykum brother. Firstly i would like to say that i live in London and i understand why u had the need to speak of London in such an ill manner. I too feel that way when i see how our Somalian brothers and sisters are misrepresenting the rest of us hard working fellow muslims. Most of the things u named above such as people not taking advantage of education do exist within our communities. But brother don't over exaggerate this. I mean yes, do emphasise that within every Somali community there are those who abuse the British system in many ways, which is true. It does happen here in the UK, as in many other countries. Anyway, to cut a long story short there's a bit more for me to say that my bother's & sisters above haven't already stated. I have just finished explaining to another brother who was on another "ila qosol" page named "WOOLWICH, WOOLWICH, WOOLWICH", that there are bad people everywhere in London, the UK, the US and all over the world. That regardless of how ur town or city is, there will always be those people who are ready to put you and your home towns down. I don't want to talk much more because if we start to dig up all these issues in 1 go we will be here forever. I am a perfect example of this as u can see...i'm babling on a bit  . But to finish off bro we should not cuss or diss one another. I saw ur comment about some of the girls in London calling them "hoes". It is better for all of us if we try to help each other instead of trying to put each other down and try to make our towns sound "THE BADDEST", or instead of trying to "DEFEND" these towns (which don't even belong to us) by shedding blood and wasting our preciouse words on "SLAGGING2 matches which lead us no where. Do you agree with this? Please get back to me with ur views and i hope that we can continue to discuss this topic in this mature manner, as this is the calmest conversation i have seen on somalinet for a long time. I would like to add couple of things although most of the things that I wanna say were said by Amina and sweet queen. Faysal brother I detected your words a deep hurt. Probably your ex-grilfriend has just told you that she is gonna marry her clan. If that is the case these things happen from time to time and I can only simpthise with you, or maybe you just get dumped whatever the case there is no reason 4 u 2 say that the somali gals in UK r hoes. It is really shame of you to say that as the most of the other things that you said make sense eventhough they are not completely true. When you talking about London ppl I guess it is hard to generalise somalis in the UK. they come in different forms and shapes. You said they have opportunity to study that is true but have you been to some of London Universities. you will be surprised to see the amount of somalis in universites. Have you been to East London, North London, Southbank, Westminster,Middlesex, Queen Marry's all these and many more you would fine great number of Somalis who are studying in those institutions. I have to admit the percentage is small compare to the ones who are not serious about study. Onother factor is that a lot of them do not have the chence to study due to family problems as they are supporting their families. Let me give you an example I personally know for instance this ex-neighbour of mine in somalia that her family depending on her, you see they are originated from North but they lived in the south somali. when the war broke out they had to leave the south and emigrate to north and leave behind every thing they had. There have nothing in North and had to start from somewhere therefore my friend is the only source of income. She works 10 hours 6 days of the week. She never had the chance to study. Maybe one day one her family stand their own feet she will and I am sure a lot of brothers and sisters found themself in the same situation. So finally bro there is no need of being hard on us. we are trying and Allah may help all of us. Keep this page buzzing!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the wonderfull job guys Ashour

Besides i recond somali r the most ignorent people coz ,what we see here is a guy who came from big n wide family he is the eldest in his family , u have no idea what his mother gone throught just to bring him here then when he get resedential to this country he star eating jad day n night, clubing sleeping aroung with white chicks he doesn't even know there is something call HIV or protection, well am sure those loser life every where in the world n i'll suggest them to start all over again n be smater like other boy who is your age who's studying working , sending bill to their parentsn at the same time building their ownfamilies (wife n children) thanx all take careaight....

We are here to express to ourself and tell to each other what do we think it right and that is a good thing. I only have one question though, for those of you who lives in UK why do you call your selves woolwich, south-hall, Cardif, etc. You know your ass don't belong these Places, and you know you are one them refugees, Is in that what the white man call you? I am really disapointed by you. I always use to think that the Somali community UK was one of the best, but when I start coming to visit somalinet forum and the chat lines, I found out that they are not all that. I am not saying that I live a perfect world where there is no loosers, or crime, but at least the once I see here don't call themselves the city or the village they live in, and they know this place is temporary and one day they will all go back to where we belong. Make long story short, pls for those of you who think differently, keep in your mind that you are somali and that is where you belong.
