Somalias mess is created by the selfishness of our so called elders, intellectuals, tribal leaders and most of all warlords (all of them men). I think its time to give our women a chance to rule the country, and it might just be the solution to all of our problems. you see, men to talk to each other and will never agree on anything, where as women talk with each other and decide on one course of action.

What do you (Somalis) think about that?.

Mr. Warlord and likes of you, lets debate this issue, what makes you think that men will always rule the world?, I think the time has come for the men to take a back seat and learn how thinks are done from the intellectually superior females of the world.

some may say that I am a bit mad but as me being a woman i dont think that women should be responsible in ruling a whole country.
women go through some rough times especially during the end of each months and during that period of time (u get the pun) they chnage become more fussy, moan a lot ( not that we dont moan at all) their bioloigical and mental side changes completey and that is why Allah doesnt accept that man or the woman asking for divorce when the woman is on her end of month, thr reason being is that they r not aware of wat they are doing.
that is not my only arguments women are more emotion than men, we feel more we sense more we care more we love more and we could endup loving our enemies lol.
ofr real though men are far much better doing the ruling job after all why do we need to grow older havent yo seen Tony Blair and Bill Clinton they were veryyy young when they became presidents and now they look like a rough chiken that just escaped from the oven :O
anyways take care yal
and may ALLAH bless all

I do have a serious doubt that you are a female, look, the reason why I'm advocating women to be leaders is that the world is sick and tired egotistical men, who don't care about human life but their own personal gain. I agree with you on one point, which is women are more sensitive than men, but that it precisely the reason why women should take the helm, because there will be more sensitive to act violent unless it is absolutely necessary.

Women power..peace and tranquility for ever.

Women being in power can bring some good but then again it can bring bad. My opinion is 2 leave the case alone and for the sisters who want 2 be presidents or heads of state or what ever position should take it into their hands 2 become this.

Let's just take our country (Somalia) for example, we have seen over a decade of anarchy, killings, looting, rapes, road blockades, inflation, nuclear waste being dumped in our soil, people being displaced all four corners of the globe with refugee status and for what?. In my humble opinion, these things happened because of men, whether being a clan leader/elders, intellectuals or warlords.

They don't see what they have done to us and our country, and are still at it to this day, because of their greed and their lack of compassion for human life. My question is, why do we have settle for this type of system, when I'm sure that we can do better. I will welcome any change but why not give the women of Somalia a chance to salvage what is left of our beloved country? Are men so afraid that women might actually succeed in re-uniting the country and establishing a system of government which is based on the wil of the people and the rule of law?

Sis I c where you coming from but bare in mind that these men were rasied by women whom might and i am saying just might be evil and all they cared about is gossib and wearing the leatest diracs. i am a woman but wat i am saying that looking at somali women they have no such sense of power control or even sensibilty to rule, sis i might be generalizing here but all these care about is looking wat the other is wearing and wat the other is doing, they just dont have it at all.

Amira,

I feel sad that you feel that way, women are raised to be subserviant to men for centuries, and it bothers me a great deal that you are not least bit concerned what women go through day in and day out. They are the back bone and the foundation of every family, yet they are not being taken seriously, when it comes to having the capacity and intelligence to think and to lead a nation. I feel very strongly that women can be better leaders than men, and I hope that you will do your part as a women to see to it, that women are seen more than just a machine to produce children, but should be seen as being couragious and having the superior leadership ability we all know they possess.

L&M one of the famouse egyptians poets said ' the mother is like a school, if u raise her well then u rasied a whole nation' therfore i am not to condem the role of women in our socities but i am here to praise them. sis could we go and tell a amn go and rasie 4 children without having any help some men might do the job but do u think that they would do it as effectifly as a mother in my opinion no they wouldnt and that is the case as well women might be fit to be leaders and to role but for how long sis. we have to accept the fact that allah made us equall yet not equal in the duties we can do some things muhc better than men infact in this psychological experiment it has been proven that women can manage to do two things at the same time while men find it veryyy hard to do so, so we have our advantages sis and there is nothing wrong with saying that men can do better than us in some certain catogries and vice verse
