Suhayla (Public user) | Unrecorded Date To Alex: No I am not MCSE certified. Why do say the MCSE's job market is much better? Do you have any web links? Please let me know if you find some---tutorials and preparations |
Abdalla (Public user) | Unrecorded Date To Suhayla . Walaal waad mahadsantahayarinta wanaagsan oo aad soo jeedisay,Waanad igala hormartay ee maskaxdayda ayay ka guuxaysay qorshahaas oo kale. Waxaanan hada jooga Denmark oo aan doonayo hadii alle idmo inaan Korso sanad ah oo applied math.and computer science aan ka bilaabo. Waan ku faraxsanahay xaqiiqdii mawduucan, waxaanan jeclahay inuu sii socdo. Walaalkaa Abdalla(Denmark). |
Student (Public user) | Unrecorded Date To suhayla, good idea, as an Electro student about to graduate,I have interest in Network eviroment and data transmission. I would like to combine my knowlage of the hardware with software. I am particularly interested in Windows NT platform. Make suggestion on how to start this. Mahadsanid Nabad gelyo |
Suhayla (Public user) | Unrecorded Date To Abdalla: Thank you walaal. My background is in Mathematics also. Iam currently enrolled in a networking course - Novell. I will try to post the tips I learn in class as much as the time premits me. Please let me know how you are planning to enter in this field and I will try to help to the best of my abilities. Good luck with the course. To Student: Walaal Iam in Novell course, but I have been studying by my self and I am trying to take Network essential exam in the fall. Before I proceed have taken any network related course? If you have then my advice to you is go to usedbooks stores and buy some books and read and study for a while then get an idea. Since you are in electronics you are ahead of the game. Good luck. |
Student (Public user) | Unrecorded Date to suhayla, thank you sis, I had data transmission courses which is almost the same as networking essentials of the MCSE course. I have worked as an intern in a IT-solution provider company, which i am going to finish on june 30, after that 6 months of writing my thesis. During this time my interest on networking grew and i started to learn NT server for enterprises. All the network thing were just theory to me before but now it makes more sense as i see the practical implemtations of this. So i don't intend to do any certification examination till i finish my degree, but i will do these examinations after my graduations ( insha allah) when are we going start this forum you seggested. I like to exchange information with other people who are interested in this like your self and the people who know lot more on this subject than my self. best greetings. Nabad gelyo |
Suhayla (Public user) | Unrecorded Date To Student: Good luck with your studies. Finish the degree then study for the network exams. I am taking summer coarse and I am press on time but every body is welcome to start the discussion any time. |
Suhayla (Public user) | Unrecorded Date To Alex: Where do you start learning linux? Do I have to know UNIX before I attempt learning Linux? Do you know any hot links for Linux tutorials? Since you seem to know more about the subject at hand do please bring some discussion and let's start asking and making suggestions. Thank you bro in advance.lol |
SUCAAD (Public user) | Unrecorded Date CAN SOME ONE EXPLAIN TO ME THE JOB OF A MEDICAL TECH? |
Suhayla (Public user) | Unrecorded Date To Dhamaan, Sorry that I got very overwhelmed with my studies and work. I was hoping that others will keep this page going and was very disappointed for the lack of current discussions. I found out that there are practice exam kits that similate the actual tests in Novell and I am planning to purchase the kit so if anyone is interested in knowing my opinion about it let me know, I will make sure to post the 1-800 # for the company that sells the kit next time. The teacher told us that the CNA AND CNE exams nowadays are the same test but score is upped from CNA level until next time. Take care. |
Alex (Public user) | Unrecorded Date Dear suhelya is there any reason that you are studding for Novell? The reason I ask the question is most people are studding MCSE. What are you specifically looking for? The practice exams or computer based training kits (CBT). |
Alex (Public user) | Unrecorded Date Sorry suhelya that I did not respond the question about Linux. Linux is new and hot. I myself started it. I was a novell die hart until I was switched \by the $$$ that is behind the inferior Microsoft product. It pays well and that is what the market is asking sister. Now that Active server is coming out with window 2000 there will be more demand for the Microsoft product. I would strongly advice you that you drop novell and jump on the Microsoft bandwagon. Please start playing with linux because if it takes off you will have a head start. I will look for links to Linux and forward or post them, or go to ZDNET.com and look for linux news, or go to Linux.com. Bye for now. |
Suhayla (Public user) | Unrecorded Date To Alex: Dear Walaal the reason I took Novell is that I would like to work with strong platform and I am planning to give NT a shot in the near future. Both Novell and NT are touch in my school and I am trying to get feel for the field. I was told that knowing both will increase my job prospects.Frankly, both of them are required in my new field. Thank you for the advice. I will play with Linux when I get little breather from the network administration exams. Take care |
Abdi (Public user) | Unrecorded Date Hi every one who interested computers. Gays I want get some advise regarding my future. First I am studying Computer and Mathematical Science in Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. I almost finished my first year, so I don't know what to take next year because I have Six electives, which includes Software Ingeneering, Networking, Unix, Data Base System(SQL), COBOL and so on. Gays what do you thing should I especialise since that I can not do every thing, and don't forget It's my future. Thanks in advance to every one. From Abdi |
MSF | Unrecorded Date Hi, Everyone Re-who interested computers by Abdi, I am not interested in computers in the least, but what actually botters me here is Abdi's outcry. First, I have gained my first computer qualification back in 1989, and since then i have done not less than 4 years of computer studies. However, mercyfull has saved me and now I am a week away from getting my first qualification (degree) other than computer here in Melbourne. On the light of that I think I can comment Abdi's future. Frankly it is that knowledge and experience that I have in computer field that made me feel bad to not to respond Abdi. I think Abdi's future is in great jeopardy. Not only because Abdi studies just computer in a country in the world of ever abundant of apportunities, but also Abdi is enrolled in VUT - SUBXAANA LAAH. I am sorry to say but Abdi you disgraces us by saying I am in Melbourne and I go to VUT. Abdi if computer is all you can handle (I am not saying you are damp) I would suggest to you to go to USA, where; in morally boost you may find a lot of countrymen in computer classes, and in the hope of aliving your future you better off trusting your future in the hands of the big guys - B. GAYTS and alikes. While I never intended to offend anyone, if I have stumbled on any ones feet along the way I unconditionally apolagize to those of you. To Abdi I hope you take serious about your future Thank you, and ALLAH bless all of you. |
Suhayla | Unrecorded Date To Abdi: Take your electives in SQL, COBOL AND UNIX. In the U.S.A, knowledge in these areas is in great demand. I will suggest that you look around in your area to find out what is in demand? Take care |
Wiz | Unrecorded Date Salaam to all, I'd like to take a moment to thank Suhayla for starting this forum. I attend a Canadian university, doing a computer science degree. I always hoped that I would some day get connected with other Somali brothers/sisters who are in the field. I am just taking junior courses in the field, but would like to do programming and computer applications in other scientific fields, e.g. Biology/Chemistry. To SMF: Maybe I misunderstood you, but are you discouraging the brother who is asking for advice. I think you should heed Suhayla's advice, Abdi. Again, SMF, I might have read your words the wrong way, and if that is the case, I apologize. Lets see more of people in the field, and lets hear from one another so that we can help each other. Thanx to you all. |
abdi | Unrecorded Date Although this is a good discussion. But the problem is the language which is used through out the discussion. Please take some time and do proof reading before you post your message. Abdi pls be aware the difference between Gays and Guys and always try to use the standard English. When you say Gays you are offending some of your audience. I think what we are missing most of us "somalis" is the use of the language. We normaly don't bother to learn English language which is the key of every thing. We believe as soon as you go to unvirsity that you don't need to study and have enough english to go through your study. But the situation is far from that. For example programing needs strong english language background. So pls take my advice and do learn english as you go . |
The_diehard | Unrecorded Date Abdi you think you are good at pointing out people errors well, bro why dont you do a proof reading yourself first. What is "Univirsity" by the way and is programming not with double "M" instead of one "M" Next time do what you're preaching The Diehard |
Wiz | Unrecorded Date Yaa Allah, brothers and sisters: when are we going to learn to grow up and deal with the real world???? Most of us came into this forum with the intention of helping or getting help, especially students.... But what do we find instead, a topic begins smoothly, everyone agrees with everyone else to start with; But somewhere a long the way, one of us makes few mistakes in his/her English grammar (of course not their first language), and all we see from that point on is cannon balls (if not laser guided missiles) being exchanged regarding those minute mistakes..... I am sorry to be such pain in the buns, but this is the naked truth. Please, please, and please let us overlook our shortcomings and let us expand our horizons: Teach or be taught, that is the best application of knowledge..... So, let us pool our brains together and seek the ultimate.... We fell behind in many fields, let us not fall behind in this revolutionary field - information technology. Having said that, anyone still interested in continuing to discuss the 'puter related issues??? Good luck to all of you out there. To Abdi: If I may ask, what kind of programming languages have you done?? Have you done, structured/object oriented programming, eg. in C++??? Let me know please. Thank you all. Till later.... Peace & much love. Wiz. |
Abdi | Unrecorded Date to Wiz Dear Wiz realy i haven't done any programming at all and i don't have any idea about computer. I can just access to somalinet and my e-mail. So i have nothing to contribute but i was just pointing out an issue which is the basic fundamental of any one who wants to study. However over all you are right we have to look the big picture. Thanks for your advice again. To Diehard Dear friend you quite right i have done few mistakes and i will do in the future as English is not my first langauge. But let me tell you that i am just learning english and what is more my mistake are not offensive but just few hiccup. Any way thanks for that. Abdi |
