     | Saturday, January 13, 2001 - 10:38 am Here's my interesting question Why is it that when somali boys and girls go out as friends, even in a big group that people make something out of it, for e.g. those girls are a bunch of tarts etc. When really them people are the ones with the problem.

Our main purpose in life is to worship allah, so sweety it's not healthy islamically for us to hang with members of the opposite sex, these are kuffar values we're muslims and coming to kuffar countries we should hold our heads up high and act and behave like muslims because we represent islam and the muslims. When our the grown ups see us doing these things they nod in disagreement and show signs of disgust because it's not an appropriate behaviour and it unbecoming of a muslim to be involved in things allah told them not to be involved in.........I hope I have given you a satisfactory answer......

I think somalis should let young lovers or sometimes best friends hangout and have a good time, life is short and leaving the fullest of every second of it is the best way to enjoy it. | | Friday, January 19, 2001 - 01:16 am kamadage, you know what? you are so right, it is a culture shock and do you know who suffers the most?the young ones who grew up here.we've got the westernized society whispering to us in one ear and our parents shouting in the other. what were they expecting when they brought us here? they were raised in somalia and grew accustomed to their culture, us on the other hand are stuck with two. and they blame us???? what's that about. i think that the reason that we are not doing well academically is due to the fault of our parents, pressurizing us and our escape is watching eastenders, the brain washers. what can i say, we are brainwashed... i walk and talk with guys and i don't give a damn what any of them think. i love my parents to bits but what i'm saying is that they should know that it is not completely our fault.
