(SomaliNet) Somali Islamic militias have begun talks with warlords and businessmen on a permanent Somali government calming down the four days of bloody violence in Mogadisgu which left more than 70 people dead.
According to press repoprts, Somali clan elders got the Islamic militia to agree to a ceasefire agreement and the warlord-business bloc will decide on it by today (Monday).
Mean while, the militia has siezed most of Mogadishu, including the strategic el-Maan port at the weekend. They are accused of inciting and supporting terrorism, and killing moderate Islamic leaders.
Somalia's capital has been sectioned off by various warlords and the business community, often in bloody civil war having had no government in place since 1991. The factions have recently collaborated to fight a growing militia that has called for Islamic law as a way to create a structured and permanent government.
